10Supperclub
We begin our top list with Supperclub, a super club located at Jonge Roelensteeg 21, 1012 PL Amsterdam.
The place has it all. It’s a restaurant, cocktail bar, gallery free state and, of course, nightclub.
Best known for its varied entertainment, the club offers something for every taste; from burlesque, to circus, live concerts, cabaret and interactive acts.
Part of Masterpeace, an international movement that inspires people around the globe to use their talent in order to build peace using social media, art, music and so on, Supperclub is the place for those who love not one, but several music genres, like triphop, deephouse and electro.

9Club Air
Located at Amstelstraat 16, 1017 DA, Club Air offers a maximum capacity of 1300 people, which makes it one of the best spacious clubs in Amsterdam.
However, the club has received mix reviews. Apparently, the annoying thing is the fact that they don’t take cash at the bar. For that you’ll have to use an Air Card.
Another thing that seems to start the guests’ dissatisfaction is the entrance fee, which is about 20 euros.
But perhaps that’s why Amsterdam is one of the most expensive cities in the world.
And after all, if you’re willing to spend some large amounts of money on parties, 20 euros should not be a problem for you.
On the other hand, Club Air has its perks. A reviewer said: ‘We booked a table by the dance floor which was spacious and had its own bathroom (shared with the other tables).
When we arrived at the door the staff were so friendly and took us straight to our table. The waitress was lovely and couldn’t have been more attentive. The table booking included 3 bottles of Absolut and a bottle of Moet. We didn’t even finish the 3rd bottle between 10 of us so it was definitely a great deal! Music was great too if you like house.’
8Melkweg
Next on our top list is Melkweg, Amsterdam’s Milky Way. Same as #10, the place is used for several purposes.
It is a legendary concert hall, cinema, restaurant, nightclub and it even hosts dance performances.
The nightclub is one of the few late opening clubs in the city, often remaining busy up to 5 AM.
Located on the Lijnbaansgracht, near the Leidseplein, the venue is divided into a number of space of varying sizes.
Melkweg is referenced in the Cracker song ‘Euro-Trash Girl’, The Church’s song ‘Under the Milky Way’, Lagwagon’s song ‘Infectuous’, Half Man Half Biscuit‘s song ‘Prag Vec at the Melkweg’ and in Heather Nova’s 1995 EP ‘Live from the Milky Way’.
If you’re just a visitor in Amsterdam, you should know that to enter Melkweg you must buy a membership card, for an additional 3.50 EUR on top of the ticket price. The best part is that it is valid for a month.
7Escape
Located at Rembrandtplein 11, 1017 CT Amsterdam, Escape comes along with Escape Caffe, the city’s newest hotspot.
Established in 1986, Escape has been a well-known club in the Amsterdam nightlife scene.
Not to mention, after 3 major transformations, the club has now the newest technologies in visuals, lighting and what’s most important, in sound.
Escape is open every weekend from Thursday to Sunday and offers several spaces, such as Escape Club (the main hall), Escape deLux (an intimate club on the first floor) and Escape Studio (a space for smaller events).
If you want more than just a regular visit, Escape offers a VIP table on the VIP stage behind the DJ.
You’ll get fast VIP entrance, a table for 4 people with a bottle of liquor or champagne and 4 soft drinks, and an Escape staff member who will make sure you’ll have everything you night for a memorable night.
6Sugar Factory
Sugar Factory is located at Lijnbaansgracht 238 and it is a perfect venue to dive into dance.
Also, it is an absolute must for everyone in Amsterdam.
On Mondays you can enjoy the swing beats of the Konrad Koselleck Big Band, while every 3rd Monday of the month you can enjoy the funky soul music of the Clipsters.
Drinks are not really that expensive, although the nightclub is located right in the centre of the city.
Beers and soda are around 2.20 EUR, vodka is 4 EUR and wine 3 EUR. Entrance fees range from 5 EUR to 15 EUR on weekends.
5Bitterzoet
At Spuistraat 2 HS, 1012 TS you’ll find Bitterzoet, meaning ‘bittersweet’. It is close to both the Central Station and the Jordaan neighborhood.
With its slick design functions as a bar, nightclub and theatre, the venue ranked #5 on our top list.
At Bitterzoet there is a different DJ line-up every day, attracting a musically eclectic fan base: rock, punk, hip hop, reggae, soul and funk.
You have to give the place some credit. Its interior is very unique thanks to the stained glass windows.
Also, the nightclub received only positive reviews, such as: 1) ‘For a club, this venue is certainly a unique one. Its stained glass windows certainly gave the place character and it was unlike anywhere i have been clubbing before.’
2) ‘Very beautiful place in the center of Amsterdam, good sound system, very beautiful bar for an excellent concert. Good beer and rock ‘n’ roll we adored!‘
4Paradiso
Housed in a converted former church building that dates from the 19th century, Paradiso features 2 balcony rings overlooking the stage area, with 3 large illuminated windows above the stage.
Although the acoustics are rather echoey, improvements have been made over the years.
And that doesn’t seem to bother anyone, as the nightclub is one of the most popular in Amsterdam.
Located at Weteringschans 6-8, 1017 SG, bordering the Leidseplein, Paradiso hosted numerous concerts, including Adele, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Lenny Kravitz, Amy Winehouse, Deftones, The Roots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Bad Religion, Europe, Within Temptation, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran, Joe Jackson, and the list can continue.
As you already figured it out, Paradiso is the ideal venue for those who love rock music.

3Studio 80
Next door to Escape, which we already talked about, is Studio 80. This small venue dedicates itself to modern electronic dance music.
Studio 80 has a maximum capacity of 600 people and features 2 areas and, prepare to be amazed, workshops, internships and seminars.
For example, in one of the workshops you can learn the tricks of the trade, or acquire the basic skills to be a DJ.
Located at Rembrandtplein 17, Studio 80 is considered Amsterdam’s ‘the’ place for minimal electronic and techno music.
If you expect to see a posh club with models, VIP tables, champagne and all that kind of luxury, you’ll be disappointed. At Studio 80 it’s all about the music.
2Trouw
Trouw is located in the former printing plant of the Dutch newspaper ‘Trouw’, but don’t let the exterior fool you.
This renovated industrial space has been transformed into one of Amsterdam’s best clubbing venues.
The place is also a restaurant, offering some of the best dishes in town. It was the first nightclub to receive the 24-hour permit from the city of Amsterdam.

Our journey ends here, at Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 18, where you’ll find the best nightclub in Amsterdam.
Owned by Casper Reinders of Tao Group, Jimmy Woo features an elegant decor inspired by the latest trends in music and design.
Inside you’ll find copper domed lamps hanging, an impressive lamp above the staircase created by Thijs Murre, an original Persian rug, antique cabinets behind the bar, and cool sofas.
Tattoo artist Tygo Veldhoen signed a performance art on one of the walls.
