Italy’s most honored actress, Sophia Loren is a beauty icon and a movie legend!
She started her acting career at the fresh age of 14 and holds the record for having earned six David di Donatello Awards!
In the early 70’s though, Sophia started to slowly drift apart from the big screens after starting her family.
She was a presence at LIFE and appeared on the cover seven times! She says:
“At that time, when LIFE magazine came out every week, it was something very important for a career — the best thing that could happen to an actress. It was something unbelievable. Everybody talked about it — a story in LIFE magazine, with a cover.”
