How much is Babar Azam worth in 2026?
We estimate $5.2 million, in a range of $3 million to $9 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. Contract schedules and some league prices are public, but brand fees rest on one report, and tax and spending are our assumptions. Rupees convert at 276.5 Pakistani and 94.7 Indian to the dollar, and A$1.43, the rates on November 3, 2026.
Public estimates start around 41 crore Indian rupees and run far higher. Low figures tend to leave out recent league money, and high ones tend to count gross pay or a property value as if all of it were spare cash.
How Babar Azam built it
- Led a PSL side to the title. He captained Peshawar Zalmi to the 2026 PSL title and made 588 runs.
- Played leagues beyond Pakistan. He signed with Sydney Sixers for 2025-26 and Desert Vipers in the UAE for $80,000 in 2026.
- Built a long brand list. One report names 12 brands, from Pepsi Pakistan to Oppo, at about 50 lakh Indian rupees a deal.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| PCB retainers | $1.6 million | Our assumption: PKR 40 million a year for 11 seasons since his 2015 debut. Category A paid PKR 6.57 million a month in 2024, Category B PKR 4.552 million, and earlier years were lower. |
| International match fees | $0.6 million | 66 Tests, 144 ODIs and 145 T20Is at the 2024 fee schedule come to PKR 236.5 million. Our assumption: 70 percent of that, since older fees were lower. |
| PSL | $1.6 million | CricTracker’s season figures: $25,000 in 2016, then $130,000 to $170,000 for 2020 to 2022 and $220,000 in 2025. Our fills: $70,000 for 2017 to 2019, the $150,000 midpoint, and $220,000 for 2023 and 2024. PKR 70 million in 2026. |
| Overseas leagues | $0.4 million | Our assumption: $230,000 of a reported A$420,000 Sydney Sixers deal, about 80 percent, because that figure was for a full season and we could not confirm how much of it he played, and $170,000 from earlier stints. Not yet counted: $80,000 from the UAE league. |
| Endorsements | $3.4 million | Our assumption: 8 deals a year for 8 years at the reported 50 lakh Indian rupees a deal, about $52,800. Twelve brands are named, with no dates. |
| Tax and fees | minus $1.9 million | Our assumption: 25 percent of the $7.6 million above. |
| Living costs and cars | minus $1.5 million | Our assumption: $150,000 a year for 10 years. |
| Returns on savings and land | $1 million | Our assumption: 6 percent a year on an average $2 million for 8 years. |
| Total | $5.2 million | The rows sum to $5.2 million. Most of it rests on stated assumptions. |
The franchise pays better than the flag
The sums are short. PKR 4.552 million a month for 12 months is PKR 54.6 million, about $198,000, if the ICC share on the 2024 schedule still applies. Rs 7 crore is PKR 70 million, about $253,000. Strip the ICC share out and his PKR 36 million base leaves the PSL deal 1.94 times bigger. That’s for a season whose final was played on May 3, and Peshawar Zalmi won it with him as captain and 588 runs, the most in the tournament.
The demotion from Category A in 2025 looked brutal in the headlines. On our math, losing PKR 1.5 million a month of base pay costs about $65,000 a year, roughly what one and a quarter reported endorsement deals bring in.
The farmhouse that would be almost everything
CricTracker reported a Lahore farmhouse worth about 40 crore Indian rupees, which is about $4.2 million. If that’s right and it’s fully his, one property is 81 percent of our total. We doubt it. His garage list includes a Lamborghini Aventador, an Audi e-Tron GT and a Yamaha R1, none of which fit the idea of a man with $1 million left over, and a farm value in a single unsourced line is thin evidence. A public estimate of about 41 crore would leave one crore for everything else, about $105,000. Neither number can be checked, which is why the top of our range sits at $9 million.
What would move the figure
He became Test captain again on July 5, 2026, and the 2025-26 contracts ran for 12 months from July 1, 2025. We couldn’t find a published 2026-27 list as of early November 2026. A return to Category A would add about $88,000 a year on the 2024 schedule. Gulf News reported on October 1, 2026 that Desert Vipers signed him for $80,000 at the UAE league auction, a base-price deal. A single large brand contract, if disclosed, would matter more than either.
