Carmelo Anthony’s net worth is estimated at $80 million as of November 2026. Nearly $27 million of his $262.5 million in NBA salary came from two teams he never played a game for. The Hall of Famer earned more than a quarter of a billion dollars on the court, but after tax and two decades of spending, we think he kept far less than the career total suggests.

How much is Carmelo Anthony worth in 2026?

We estimate Carmelo Anthony’s net worth at about $80 million. His salary is the one solid number we have, and the $262.5 million total comes from contract records reported by Boardroom. Taxes, spending and what his venture stakes are worth are our assumptions, and we label them. Public estimates run far higher, largely because they stop at what he earned.

How Carmelo Anthony built it

  • Studied investing before betting big. He says he spent 15 years learning before putting serious money into deals.
  • Co-founded a venture firm in 2014. He set up Melo7 Tech Partners with Stuart Goldfarb, with holdings like Lyft and DraftKings.
  • Moved into broadcasting after retiring. He joined NBC Sports as an NBA studio analyst for the 2025-26 season.

How we got to $80 million

Source Our estimate What it rests on
NBA salary, after tax and fees $131.3 million Boardroom put career pay at $262,523,093. We assume he kept half after federal and state tax, agent fees and escrow.
Endorsements, after tax $45.0 million Boardroom, citing Forbes, reported $6 million a year. We apply that to 15 of his 19 seasons, assuming less at each end: $90 million, half kept.
Living costs and homes Minus $115.0 million Our assumption of $5 million a year for the 23 years since the 2003 draft, including homes, staff and family. No figure is public.
Gain on private investments $20.0 million Fortune reported holdings in Lyft, DraftKings and SeatGeek through Melo7 Tech Partners, with no returns disclosed. We assume $10 million went in and is worth three times that now: a $20 million gain on money already counted above.
Total $81.3 million Sum of the rows above. We round to $80 million.

Spend $6 million a year instead of $5 million and the total falls to about $58 million. Spend $3 million and it rises to about $127 million, which is our range. NBC pay and podcast income aren’t in the table because no figures exist, and we treat them as covering part of his spending now.

$26.9 million for not playing

Boardroom’s team-by-team record has two entries that look like typing errors but aren’t. Atlanta paid him $25,534,253 in a buyout, and Chicago paid $1,338,954 after waiving him following a trade from Houston. He played for neither. By our calculation, that is $26,873,207, or 10.2 percent of his career salary, for no minutes at all. Boardroom’s team figures add up to about $284,000 more than its stated total, so treat them as close, not exact.

New York was the real payday. He made $125,631,432 as a Knick, 47.9 percent of the total, helped by a five-year, $124 million deal signed in July 2014. His last years came at the other end of the scale, with Portland paying $4.6 million for two seasons and the Lakers $2.6 million for one.

The Lyft bet, and the Google miss

Anthony told Fortune in November 2025 that Lyft stood out among his investments, and that he passed on Google before its stock took off. He also said he came to crypto late. He co-founded Melo7 with Stuart Goldfarb in 2014, and spent 15 years learning the game before putting serious money in, by his own account.

The biggest name in his portfolio on paper is a fund. Front Office Sports reported in February 2023 that Isos7 Sports Investments, formed with former WWE co-presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson, expected $750 million of capital for sports deals of $50 million to $100 million each. That is other people’s money. We found no record of his personal stake, so it adds nothing to the ledger, though his share of any carried profit could be worth more than everything else in the gain row.

Real estate tells a more modest story. He and his then wife paid $11 million for a Chelsea condo in 2015, listed it at $12.85 million in 2020 and at $12.5 million in 2022 after a full redesign. The page shows no sale price.

Why other estimates disagree

Public estimates run well above ours. Those figures are hard to reach after tax without very large investment wins, and none has been disclosed. Many appear to stop at $262.5 million in salary, add endorsements and take off little.

What would move the number

His NBC Sports role, which began with the 2025-26 season, and his September 2025 Hall of Fame induction both help his earning power, but neither has a published price. A sale of a Melo7 holding or a disclosed return from Isos7 would matter more. So would any figures from his wine brand, VII(N) The Seventh Estate, or his weekly podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn.
