How much is Anthony Davis worth in 2026?
We estimate $190 million. His pay is among the best documented in sports, so the gross is solid and the uncertainty sits in what he kept. The low end of our range, $155 million, gives him no investment gains. The high end, about $240 million, assumes $3 million a year in spending and twice our investment gains.
Public estimates usually start from the same salary record and differ on tax, spending and whether savings earned anything. Signing-day contract numbers can also mislead, as his extension shows.
How Anthony Davis built it
- Signed three nine-figure deals. He signed deals announced at $145 million, $189.9 million and $186 million from 2015 to 2023.
- Earned nearly everything on court. In 2025-26 he had a reported $54.1 million in salary and $3.5 million off the court.
- Kept a player option open. He holds a $62.8 million option for 2027-28 and is eligible for up to $275 million more.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| NBA salary through 2025-26 | $364 million | $226.0 million through 2022-23, per Boardroom, then $40.6 million and $43.2 million, per the AP, then $54.1 million for 2025-26. That sums to $363.9 million. |
| Off-court income | $49 million | The Big Lead, citing Sportico, put 2025-26 at $3.5 million. Assumption: that rate across all 14 seasons. |
| Income tax | Minus $186 million | Assumption: 45 percent of $413 million across federal, state and road-game taxes. |
| Agents and fees | Minus $16 million | Assumption: 2.5 percent of salary ($9.1 million) plus 15 percent of off-court income ($7.35 million). |
| Spending | Minus $56 million | Assumption: $4 million a year for 14 seasons. |
| Investment gains | $35 million | Assumption: an average $50 million invested at 5 percent for 14 years. His portfolio is not public. |
| Total | $190 million | The 2026-27 salary is left out because the season has barely begun. |
The $186 million extension that pays $175.3 million
When he signed in August 2023, the AP reported $186 million over three years, the highest annual average in NBA history at the time. Boardroom’s year-by-year numbers were estimates: $57.6 million, $62.2 million and $66.8 million.
The salary record now shows $54.1 million for 2025-26, then $58,456,566 for 2026-27 and a $62,786,682 player option for 2027-28. Add those and you get about $175.3 million, or $10.7 million less than the announced figure (our calculation). The AP’s math of about $750,000 a game also shrinks. This season’s salary over 82 games is about $713,000.
For scale, off-court money is 12 percent of our gross (49 divided by 413). A star who earns this much on the court does not need a sneaker story to explain the fortune, and we did not find a published value for any of his brand deals.
A $32 million sale that made almost nothing
TMZ reported the sale of his Bel Air Crest home for $32 million on July 9, 2026. He had asked about $40 million in 2025, per Black Enterprise, which listed $39.9 million, so he took a cut of nearly 20 percent. Complex said he paid about $31 million in 2021 and that a Los Angeles transfer tax cut into his proceeds. A paper gain of $1 million over five years does not earn a ledger row, so we leave it out.
What would move the number
The current year is the first thing. Paying out the 2026-27 salary would add about $31 million after our tax and fee assumptions. Beyond that, he became eligible on August 6, 2026 for a four-year, $275 million extension with Washington, and that report said talks had not gotten far. He also holds the 2027-28 option, so he can decide how much of the next contract to chase.
