How much is Gary Neville Worth? Gary Neville Net Worth in 2026
Gary Neville’s net worth is estimated at $42 million as of November 2026. The former Manchester United right back is known as the man behind Manchester’s £400 million St Michael’s scheme, yet a 2015 report on the deal that set it up gave him 2 percent of the company. Football wages and Sky pay built more of this fortune than the towers did.

How much is Gary Neville worth in 2026?
We estimate Gary Neville’s net worth at about $42 million, or roughly £31 million at $1.34 to the pound (the rate on 3 November 2026). A few inputs are hard, including two 2015 reports on Rowsley’s deals. His share of The Overlap, his property company and his final Salford stake are not public, so those rows are our assumptions. Older public estimates sit lower, and we explain why below.
How Gary Neville built it
- Bought property as a player. He developed his first property in his early 20s, long before his playing career ended in 2011.
- Moved straight into television. He joined Sky Sports for the 2011-12 season, the first after he stopped playing.
- Built a media company of his own. He co-founded The Overlap in 2021, and Global bought a majority of it in January 2026.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| United wages, after tax | $21.0 million | Goal, citing the BBC, reported a six-year £11 million contract in 2001 and a weekly wage above £60,000 by the end. We use £11 million, plus £12.48 million for four more years at £60,000 a week, plus an assumed £5 million before 2001. Total £28.48 million, of which we assume he kept 55 percent: £15.66 million. |
| Sky Sports, after tax | $11.1 million | Goal, citing the Daily Express, reported about £1 million a year in 2021. We apply that to the 15 seasons from 2011-12 to 2025-26, which is generous for the early ones. £15 million, 55 percent kept: £8.25 million. |
| Hotel Football deal | $5.2 million | Rowsley said in 2015 it would pay £29.1 million for 75 percent of Hotel Football, Café Football and GG Collections. That values all of it at £38.8 million. The report calls the hotel the idea of five former United players and gives no shares. We assume Neville held 10 percent: £2.91 million from the sale and £0.97 million still held at the 2015 price. |
| St Michael’s stake | $1.4 million | Construction Enquirer reported £40 million for 75 percent, with Neville on 2 percent. That is £53.3 million for the whole company and £1.07 million for him at the 2015 price. |
| The Overlap | $10.7 million | Terms of the January 2026 sale were not disclosed. We assume the business is worth £40 million, about 3.4 times the £11.8 million turnover of Buzz 16, the production firm that makes it, and that his interest is 20 percent: £8 million. Both are assumptions. Hello reported in January 2024 that he stayed a large stakeholder after selling a majority of Buzz 16. |
| Zerum and property gains | $8.7 million | Zerum, which he co-owned, posted a £750,000 first-year profit in 2015. Hello lists him and Giggs as two of its five partners. At an assumed 10 times profit and one fifth of the firm, that is £1.5 million. We add a £5 million property gain, assuming about £5 million of his earnings went in and doubled. No filing stands behind it, and the cost is already in the earnings rows. |
| Salford City | $0 | Football365 reported in May 2025 that each member of the new group holds 5 or 10 percent, with about £15 million raised at most. His exact share and what he paid are not public. Any money he put in came out of the earnings above, so we add nothing on top. |
| Living costs | Minus $16.1 million | Our assumption of £400,000 a year for 30 years, or £12 million. |
| Total | $42.0 million | Sum of the rows above, about £31.4 million. We round to $42 million. |
The range is mostly The Overlap and the property guess. Drop The Overlap and the property gain and he has about $25 million. Value The Overlap at £100 million and double the Zerum and property row and he has about $67 million.
2 percent of a £400 million headline
On 27 August 2015, Construction Enquirer reported that Rowsley, the Singapore company controlled by Peter Lim, would pay £40 million for 75 percent of St Michael Investments. Beijing Construction Engineering Group held 21 percent, and Neville and Ryan Giggs held 2 percent each. By our calculation, £40 million divided by 0.75 is £53.3 million for the whole company, and 2 percent of that is £1.07 million.
That report put the scheme at up to £200 million. Later coverage called it a £400 million project. That figure describes what gets built and sold, not what the partners own after debt. Measured against it, his original stake’s value is 0.27 percent. He may do better through development fees or a changed holding, since his firm Relentless has led the scheme and other backers have been named since, but we found no filing that shows either.
The sale nobody priced
The freshest money event is also the murkiest. City AM reported on 6 January 2026 that Global, the owner of LBC, was buying a majority of The Overlap, with Miroma Group exiting. Neville co-chairs the Global entity. No price came out. Accounts to June 2024 showed The Overlap Limited with net assets of just £406,000, while Inside World Football counted 2.2 billion views across platforms in 2025. That gap between book value and audience is why this row is our widest guess, and why it could be the one that moves most. Buzz 16 made £743,306 before tax on £11.8 million of turnover in that same year, which is a thin 6.3 percent margin by our math.
What Salford costs and pays
Neville bought Peter Lim’s 40 percent in 2024 and became majority owner, then a new group came in during May 2025, including David Beckham. Football365 reported that Giggs, Scholes, Butt and Neville himself gave up their old stakes, with Neville staying in the new group. The price of Lim’s stake was never reported, so the ledger gives the club no separate value. A lower-league club is more likely to ask its owners for money than to send them dividends.
Why estimates disagree, and what would change ours
The public estimates we saw in coverage from 2021 and 2024 sit near £20 million, and neither shows a working. Ours is higher because we count stakes such as The Overlap and the hotel deal. We take 45 percent off pay as our assumption, and we value stakes at the price someone paid.
Three things would move the figure: a disclosed price for The Overlap, the opening of the W hotel at St Michael’s (a 2023 report said early 2027) if it brings a sale, and any new Sky deal. His own accounts at Relentless would settle the property guess.
