Ice-T is American rapper, metal vocalist and actor and his current net worth is $50 million.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Tracy Marrow started his career as a rapper in the 1980s.
The son of Solomon, a conveyor belt mechanic at Rapistan Conveyor Company, and Alice Marrow, became one of the richest rappers.
After his mother passed away of a heart attack, his father raised him for four years with help from a housekeeper.
When his father died from a heart attack, Marrow had a rough time and lived with a nearby aunt for a short time. After which he moved with another aunt and her family in South Los Angeles.
There he shared a room with his cousin Earl until he left for college. Thanks to his cousin he used to listen to rock music and only to the local rock stations. His interest in heavy metal music became present as he shared the room with his cousin.
He released his debut album, Rhyme Pays, under the Sire Records in 1987. Rhyme Pays became one of the first hip-hop albums marketed with an explicit content sticker.
The following year he started the Rhyme $yndicate Records label, named after the group of his friends) and released another album titled Power.
He also started the heavy metal band named Body Count, which he included it in his 1991 album, O.G.: Original Gangster.
The group released its self-titled debut album in 1992. Around the same time he experienced some controversy over his track Cop Killer, perceived to glamorize killing officers.
He ended his contract with Warner Bros. Records and released his next solo album, Home Invasion, through Priority Records.
Body Count released their next album in 1994 and he continued to release two more albums in the late 1990s.
Since 2000 he stars as the NYPD Detective/Sergeant Odafin Tutuola on the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
In 2006 his group released their fourth album titled Murder 4 Hire. After which Manslaughter and Bloodlust followed in 2014 and 2017.
