How much is Johnny Harris Worth? Johnny Harris Net Worth in 2026
Johnny Harris’s net worth is estimated at about $22 million as of November 2026, and it is a rough estimate. At Vox, his Borders series pulled about 143 million views and paid him a salary with no talent bonus. Now he has 1.27 billion views on a channel he controls, a payroll of more than 20 people and a company called Newpress that raised $12 million in October 2026. That is a long way from selling his own plasma, a part of his story he told Semafor’s Mixed Signals podcast in May 2026.

How much is Johnny Harris worth in 2026?
We put Johnny Harris at about $22 million, within a range of $12 million to $40 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. He has published no revenue, and Newpress has published no accounts or valuation. What is on the record is the audience, the size of the team, how the business charges and a $12 million round reported by TheWrap in October 2026. By our calculation about 83 percent of our total ($18 million of $21.7 million) is a paper value for the company, which is the softest part of this page.
Public estimates disagree because most of them multiply views by an ad rate and stop at a gross number, which ignores a team of more than 20. Others pick up a different Johnny Harris altogether, since the name is common.
How Johnny Harris built it
- Built on a channel he owned. After Vox cancelled Borders in 2020 he built his own company around his own channel.
- Paid for a full team. The company had over 20 staff by June 2025, including animators and a composer.
- Built a network for peers. Newpress launched in February 2026 to handle hiring and sales for other creators.

Nearly every row is our assumption, and we would rather say so than dress it up. The view count, the team size and the size of the funding round are the only hard numbers in the table.
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube ads, lifetime | $7.6 million | Our assumption: 1,265,476,728 lifetime views on vidIQ at November 3, 2026 at $6 per thousand. YouTube has not reported his rate. |
| Sponsors, lifetime | $11.4 million | Our assumption: 1.5 times ad money. Newpress runs on ads and sponsorship, Tubefilter reported, but no rates are public. |
| Staff and production | Minus $9.5 million | Our assumption: half of the $19 million above. The Long Story reported a team of over 20 in June 2025, including producers, animators and a full-time composer. |
| Tax | Minus $3.3 million | Our assumption: 35 percent of the $9.5 million left. |
| Living costs | Minus $2.5 million | Our assumption: 40 percent of the $6.2 million left, over about six years as a household. |
| Newpress stake | $18 million | Our assumption. TheWrap reported a $12 million round led by Emerson Collective and Glick Family Investments, with no valuation or stake disclosed. We assume outside investors now hold 40 percent, which makes the company worth $30 million and leaves 60 percent with Harris and his wife Iz. We credit that to them as a household. It is paper value, and nothing has been sold. |
| Total | $21.7 million, which we round to $22 million | $7.6 million + $11.4 million, less $9.5 million, $3.3 million and $2.5 million, plus $18 million. |
The 143 million views he didn’t get paid for
Borders ran about 4 million views per video across its life. The Long Story reported that Vox paid him a good salary, was not monetizing the show, in his telling, and offered no talent bonus. He announced the cancellation in September 2020.
Our calculation: 143 million views at the same assumed $6 per thousand is about $858,000 in ad value on a channel he didn’t own. His own channel has now done 8.8 times those views (1,265,476,728 divided by 143 million). None of those 143 million views paid him beyond the salary. The 1.27 billion on his own channel do.
A company with three more faces on it
Harris and Iz, who is executive producer and runs the business side, started adding other people’s shows in 2023 with Search Party, hosted by former Vox colleague Sam Ellis. Ellis gets a salary, benefits and a revenue share as the channel grows, per The Long Story. That is the template: Newpress hires and sells, and the creators make the programmes. It officially launched in February 2026, with shows on sports, tech and internet mysteries, and Wikipedia lists a News Emmy for graphic design in May 2026. TheWrap reported in October 2026 that the new round adds Emerson’s Peter Lattman and former Politico chief executive Patrick Steel to the board, that YouTuber Mark Rober was already an investor, and that former 60 Minutes executive producer Bill Owens joins on March 1, 2027. Creators share in the upside once their shows turn a profit, and Newpress owns the intellectual property.
The membership is the one price on the record. Net Influencer and Wikipedia both describe $60 a year, the first calling it a founding membership, while Tubefilter wrote $60 a month. We go with the yearly price because two sources agree. No member count is public, so it has no row of its own.
The number that could pull this estimate down
vidIQ shows 2,785,315 views gained in October 2026. Spread over the 73 months since September 2020, the lifetime total averages about 17.3 million a month, so October ran at about 16 percent of that pace by our math. At $6 per thousand, a year of Octobers is about $200,000 in ads. One month on one tracker proves little, and sponsor money doesn’t move in step with views, but a lasting slowdown would make our Newpress row look generous. A disclosed valuation would move the figure more than anything else. If outside investors hold 25 percent, the company is worth $48 million and our total is about $40 million. If they hold 60 percent, it is worth $20 million and our total is about $12 million.
