- Put music money into startups. He backed La Haus in 2021 and became a Rappi shareholder in March 2022.
- Built brands under one name. Royalty by Maluma covers clothing and perfume, and Royalty Films followed in March 2022.

We put him at $45 million, in a range of $25 million to $80 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. We can see ticket sales. We can’t see his royalty statements, his brand fees or the size of his startup stakes, and those are labelled as assumptions below.
Public estimates we saw run from about $12 million to $80 million. The low end looks years old, and the high end appears to treat concert gross as his own money. A gross has to pay the venue, the promoter, the crew and the label first.
How we got to $45 million
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Touring, his share of reported gross | $39 million | About $129 million of gross: $95.9 million on a Billboard Boxscore ranking reported in 2023, $7.77 million from Madrid in 2025, and our assumed $25 million for the Don Juan U.S. leg (late August to early November 2023, assuming 30 shows at the $832,961 his 11:11 tour averaged in North America). We assume he keeps 30 percent before tax. |
| Festivals and private shows | $15 million | Assumption. These rarely get reported, and we allow about $1.4 million a year for 11 years. |
| Streaming, records and publishing | $33 million | Assumption: $3 million a year from 2015 to 2025. Sony Music Latin is his label and the deal terms are private. More than 18 million records sold is the only count we found. |
| Brands, clothing and perfume | $16 million | Assumption: $2 million a year for eight years. Versace, Hennessy and Balmain are named partners, and Royalty by Maluma has a Macy’s line and four perfumes at $45 each. No sales are public. |
| Film and TV | $3 million | Assumption for Marry Me, Encanto and his coaching work on La Voz. No fee is public. |
| Startup and mezcal stakes | $0 million | We carry these at no gain. The money he put in is already inside the rows above, and no stake size or current value is public. |
| Tax and advisers | minus $37 million | Assumption: 35 percent of the $106 million above, which is $37.1 million. |
| Living and team costs | minus $22 million | Assumption: $2 million a year for 11 years. |
| Medellín housing pledge | minus $1 million | He committed an initial $1 million to build homes in Medellín with La Haus in April 2022, as Bloomberg Línea reported. |
| Total | $45 million | The rows sum to $46 million, which we round. Most rows here are assumptions, and we say so on purpose. |
Madrid against the rest of his career
Pollstar’s 2021 tally put him at $62,822,450 from 116 reported shows, an average of $541,573 a night and $72.86 a ticket. In April 2025 the same publication logged three Movistar Arena shows in Madrid at $7,767,588 from 45,459 tickets.
By our calculation, that is $170.87 a ticket, 2.3 times his old average, and $2.59 million a night, 4.8 times the old nightly figure. Those three nights equal 12.4 percent of the entire 2021 tally. One strong city set against a career average flatters the trend, but his ticket has clearly moved up.
The $50 million line we left out
A 2022 Bloomberg Línea roundup of his investments credits him with US$50 million in La Haus, the Colombian property startup, inside its $100 million round of July 2021. We don’t believe that was his own cheque. Another account of the same round describes $50 million of investment led by Acrew Capital and Renegade Partners, plus $50 million in credit, with Maluma listed among the angels beside Rappi’s Simón Borrero. A personal $50 million would also be more than the whole fortune we can support, so we read the figure as the round’s and not his.
The same roundup says he became a Rappi shareholder in March 2022, invested in the music app Trebel at a $200 million company valuation, and took a partner role at Casa Lumbre on a mezcal. None came with a personal amount. Any of them could be worth a lot, or very little.
What 2027 could do
On August 17, 2026, Fénix Entertainment announced a global partnership for his 2027 and 2028 world tour. No money figures were released, and Pollstar noted that he has not toured since 2025. Fénix also co-promoted Luis Miguel’s 2023 and 2024 run, reported as the highest-grossing Latin tour on record.
Here is what that could mean, using assumptions and not a forecast. If he plays 60 shows at the Madrid rate of $2.59 million, that grosses about $155 million. At our 30 percent share and 35 percent tax, he keeps about $30 million, which would add two-thirds to our current figure. His 2026 album Loco X Volver, out May 15, and the September single Agua with Shakira give him fresh songs to sell it with.
