How much is Michael Reeves worth in 2026?
We put him at $2.5 million, in a range of $1.5 million to $5 million. No contract, payout or company of his has been made public, so the figure is built from view counts, a visible list of sponsors and assumed rates.
Public estimates vary so much because channel-stat sites feed views into an ad-rate model and leave out Twitch and sponsors. vidIQ’s ad-only model showed about $2,500 when we checked on November 3, 2026. It says plainly that sponsorships, memberships and merchandise aren’t included, and for this channel those are the point.
How Michael Reeves built it
- Taught himself to code. He taught himself programming and left college for software contract work for the Hawaiian government.
- Posted rarely and made it count. His 56 videos have drawn about 529 million views, or about 9.4 million each.
- Added Twitch in 2020. His first stream in June 2020 passed 30,000 viewers within about 15 minutes.

Only the view counts and the sponsor list are observed. Every rate is our assumption.
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube ads | $1.6 million | 528,985,901 views at an assumed $3 per thousand. |
| YouTube sponsors | $1.4 million | 10 sponsored videos detected at the channel’s average of 9.4 million views and an assumed $15 per thousand. |
| Twitch and other work | $2 million | Assumption: about $330,000 a year for the six years since his June 2020 debut, from about 1.4 million followers. No payout figure is public. |
| Income tax | minus $2 million | 40 percent of the $5 million above, assuming a California resident at the top end of his pay. |
| Production and living costs | minus $0.5 million | Assumption: $50,000 a year for ten years, covering parts, robots and rent. |
| Total | $2.5 million | Rough estimate. Rounded to two figures. |
Fifty-six videos and a very expensive dog
Here is our calculation: 528,985,901 views divided by 56 videos is about 9.4 million per upload. At our assumed $3 per thousand, that is about $28,300 of ad money per video, and at an assumed $15 per thousand a sponsor pays about $141,000 for the same slot. If those rates are close, a sponsor read earns him five times what the ads do.
Now the robot. TechCrunch reported that Boston Dynamics’ Spot Explorer kit went on sale for $74,500 in June 2020. OfflineTV bought one in late 2020 with a sponsor’s financial support, and it ended up modified to pour beer. At $28,300 a video, the list price alone was 2.6 videos of ad money. A sponsor helping out seems wise.
The sponsor list has some fun in it. SponsorRadar’s list shows Honey three times, Raycon twice, Odoo twice, and one each for Amazon Prime Video, ExpressVPN and Public, the brand behind the goldfish in March 2022. Amazon’s “Building a Laser Baby” won a Streamy in 2021.
He left college to write code, then found a bigger payer
He struggled at school, taught himself programming, briefly attended Northern Arizona University and left to do software contract work for the Hawaiian government. “The Robot That Shines a Laser in Your Eye” went viral in 2017. By June 2020 his first Twitch stream passed 30,000 viewers within about 15 minutes and ran six hours. The leaked 2021 Twitch figures we could open list only the top 10 earners, and he isn’t among them, so that $2 million row stays an assumption.
What 2026 looks like
His latest upload, “I Built a Dog Catapult,” landed on February 13, 2026, with Odoo as sponsor, and has about 5.83 million views. In October 2026 the channel drew about 3.53 million views, and at $3 per thousand that is about $10,600 for the month. So the back catalog pays his rent and little else.
Three things would move the figure: a new run of sponsored videos, a disclosed Twitch or agency deal, or any company or property in his name, none of which we found. A long gap between uploads moves it the other way. CreatorDB shows brand work with NordVPN in February 2025 and Odoo in February 2026, roughly a deal a year on that list. NordVPN isn’t in SponsorRadar’s count, so our 10 videos may run low.
