How much is Tom Scott worth in 2026?
We estimate Tom Scott is worth about $2.7 million, within a range of $1.5 million to $6 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. UK filings show what stayed inside his companies. They don’t show his income, because he has elected not to file a profit and loss account, and anything paid out to him leaves the record. His home and savings are not public.
Public estimates disagree because most multiply views by a guessed ad rate and stop there. That gives a gross figure before staff, production, corporation tax and personal tax, and it ignores what a decade of weekly travel videos costs to make.
How Tom Scott built it
- Posted weekly for ten years. He kept up a weekly video streak for a decade, ending it on January 1, 2024.
- Kept the cash in a company. His holding company reported £755,869 in cash at November 30, 2025.
- Came back with one long series. His England road-trip series began on Nebula on March 23, 2026.

Only the company cash is documented, and it sits inside these rows. Of the $2.7 million, about $1.2 million is the filed company money, and the other $1.5 million is what we assume he took out and kept. Pounds are converted at $1.339 to the pound, the early November 2026 average on X-Rates.
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube ads, lifetime | $5 million | Our assumption: 1.97 billion views at about $2.53 per thousand. That rate comes from vidIQ’s model, which shows about $33,000 in ad revenue and 13.07 million views gained in October 2026, on a page updated November 2, 2026. The page doesn’t state the window for the dollar figure, so reading it as that month is our assumption. It is a modelled rate, and YouTube has not reported it. |
| Sponsors, podcast, book, TV | $2 million | Our assumption. He runs sponsorships, his site says, with rules against gambling and microtransactions, but no rates are public. |
| Tax, staff and production | Minus $3.5 million | Our assumption: half of the $7 million above. |
| Living costs | Minus $0.8 million | Our assumption: a third of the $2.3 million left after the $1.2 million still in the companies. |
| Total | $2.7 million | $5 million + $2 million, less $3.5 million and $0.8 million. |
The company accounts tell a dull and useful story
His site credits Pad 26 Limited as the production company. Pad 26 is owned by External Tank Limited, and Scott holds 75 percent or more of External Tank. The holding company shares its name with part of the Space Shuttle, which suits the channel.
External Tank’s April 2026 filing shows net assets of £752,374 at November 30, 2025, nearly all of it cash. Pad 26’s shows £114,380. Our calculation: add the two, take off the £99 of shares External Tank holds in its subsidiary, and you get £866,655. At $1.339 that is about $1.16 million, or roughly 17 percent of our $7 million lifetime gross.
External Tank’s net assets by year-end are the interesting part: £509,508 in 2020, £569,290 in 2021, £708,648 in 2022, £727,850 in 2023, £730,328 in 2024 and £752,374 in 2025. The biggest jump in that run was £139,358, in 2022. In the first year of his break, 2024, the figure rose just £2,478. Nothing here tells us how much he paid himself in dividends, so a flat line doesn’t mean flat earnings, but it does rule out a large pile building up in these companies.
Walking away from a weekly machine
Scott ended a ten-year weekly streak on January 1, 2024, with over 6 million subscribers. Publish Press reported in March 2026 that he felt he wasn’t ready to grow the business at the pace it demanded. He kept hosting Lateral, though his site says he neither produces it nor writes its questions, and a companion book came out in November 2024.
The return is a bet on one format. Tom Scott: England began on Nebula on March 23, 2026, with episodes reaching YouTube a week later. Publish Press counted 39 episodes in March, while Wikipedia now lists 41. The latest vidIQ snapshot shows 6.75 million subscribers and 1,971,611,516 views at November 2, 2026. If that month’s modelled $33,000 held for a year, that is about $400,000 in ads before any costs, on our math.
What would move the figure
Nebula could. Tubefilter reported in 2021 that the creator-owned service was valued at $50 million or more, and that creator shareholders share 50 percent of subscription profits and would share 50 percent of any sale. We could not confirm whether Scott holds shares or on what terms, so it has no row. A sale, if he holds a stake, would be the largest single change to this page. The next accounts for both companies, covering the year to November 30, 2026, will be the first to show an England year.
