How much is Nikhil Kamath worth in 2026?

We estimate Nikhil Kamath’s net worth at about $2.2 billion. Zerodha is private and unlisted, and neither brother’s exact share has been published. One report says the founders own 100 percent of the company and have never raised outside money, but gives no split. We assume Nikhil holds 30 percent, with a range of 20 to 40 percent, and value the company at 15 times its latest profit. Those two choices drive nearly the whole answer, which is why the headline is a rough estimate.

How Nikhil Kamath built it

  • Co-founded Zerodha with his brother. The broker earned about ₹4,237 crore in profit in FY25.
  • Backed startups early. He invested in Licious, Ather, Nazara and Infra.Market, among others.
  • Pledged half his wealth. He signed The Giving Pledge in June 2023, committing 50 percent of his wealth.

How we got to $2.2 billion

Source Our estimate What it rests on
Stake in Zerodha $2,030 million FY26 profit of about ?4,283 crore (reported by Inc42), at 95 rupees to the dollar, the rate we use for early November 2026, is $450.8 million. We assume 15 times profit, $6.76 billion, and a 30 percent stake, which is $2.03 billion. Both are assumptions, and nothing we opened gives a valuation for Zerodha.
Founder pay $30 million MCA filings, reported in November 2025, show ?96 crore of pay for each brother in FY25, about $10.1 million at 95 rupees to the dollar. We assume three years at that level. Only one year is documented.
InCred stake $13 million The brothers together paid ?250 crore for a minority stake in InCred Holdings, announced on 23 June 2025. We count half of the cost, ?125 crore, at cost.
Infra.Market subsidiary $18 million He paid ?166 crore for 7 percent of an Infra.Market subsidiary. Counted at cost.
Listed holdings $87 million An investor-tracking page lists Ather (1.80 percent, ?587 crore), Nazara (1.62 percent, ?153 crore) and BlueStone (1.10 percent, ?83 crore), together ?823 crore. The page is undated in places and gives BlueStone as ?590 crore elsewhere, so treat it as rough.
Unlisted stakes and funds $50 million Licious, Subko, Pee Safe, D’yavol Spirits and the Gruhas funds. No stake or value is public. Assumption, in a range of $20 million to $100 million.
Tax on pay Minus $9 million 30 percent of the founder pay row. Assumption.
Total $2,200 million Sum of the rows above.

About 91 percent of the total is the Zerodha row ($2,030 million of $2,220 million). At a 20 percent stake the headline falls to about $1.5 billion, and at 40 percent it rises to about $2.9 billion, which is the range we quote.

One year of his share of profit

Entrackr’s FY25 report puts Zerodha’s revenue at about ?8,847 crore and profit at about ?4,237 crore, a margin of 48 percent, down from ?5,496 crore the year before, which it attributed to lower trading volumes, slower new-investor additions and tighter regulation. By our calculation, 30 percent of ?4,283 crore is ?1,285 crore, or $135.3 million a year at 95 rupees to the dollar, about 13 times his reported pay of $10.1 million. The pay is a small part of what the company earns for him.

A flat year and a warning

Inc42 reports FY26 profit up 1.2 percent to ?4,283 crore, with revenue similar to FY25. Its headline says ?4,238 crore, but a correction note in the article says that figure was a misprint. It also reports brokerage income down 10.7 percent to ?2,738 crore, which Zerodha put down to a transaction-charge rebate going away and the end of the bull market. The company’s cash and bank balance was ?22,679 crore at FY25 year-end, which is more than five years of profit at the FY25 rate (22,679 divided by 4,237 is 5.4).

Where the rest goes

He co-founded the Gruhas funds in 2021, including an Earth Fund with Brigade Group reported in March 2025, and True Beacon in 2020. He bought 5 percent of D’yavol Spirits in 2025 and launched The Foundery with Kishore Biyani in December 2025. He signed The Giving Pledge in June 2023, promising half of his wealth to charity over time, which does not reduce today’s figure.

Why other estimates disagree

Ownership is the problem. The company is privately held, and the one report we opened says only that the founders own all of it, with no split between the brothers. Some estimates may also count the company value at full price with no allowance for it being unlisted, or rely on older, higher profit.

What would move the number

A disclosed share split, an outside valuation of Zerodha, or a listing. The FY26 filing with the company registrar, expected around late 2026, would show the founders’ pay for the year.
