Sergey Brin Net Worth: How rich is Sergey Brin? & How much money is Sergey Brin worth? Time to find out!
Born in Moscow, to Yevgenia and Mikhail Brin, his father a mathematics professor, and his mother a researcher at NASA, he is now one of the richest people in the world.
The family moved in a three-room apartment in central Moscow, shared with Sergey’s paternal grandmother.
Upon his father return from a conference in Warsaw, Mikhail Brin let the family know they needed to emigrate.
Sergey’s mother didn’t want to leave their home, where they had spent their entire lives.
Without any steady income, the family had to take on temporary jobs as they waited for the authorities’ answer on their request to leave.
After the family received the answer they were allowed to leave the country.
In the summer of 1990, days after his 17th birthday, his father took a group of high school math students, including Sergey, on a two-week exchange program to the Soviet Union.
He recalls that the trip awakened his childhood fear of authority and attended elementary school at Paint Branch Montessori School in Adelphi, then received his education at home.
His father, a mathematics teacher, encouraged him to learn mathematics as his family helped him keep his Russian-language skills.
After attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland, he enrolled in the University of Maryland. While there, he received his bachelor of science from the Department of Computer Science.
On a graduate fellowship from the National Science Foundation, he started his graduate study in computer science at Stanford University.
Then he interned at Wolfram Research, and years later he was on leave from his PhD studies.
During an orientation at Stanford, he met Larry Page, with whom he seemed to disagree on most themes. Eventually, they bonded after spending some time together.
How did Sergey Brin get famous?
The pair authored a paper titled The Anatomy of Large- Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine.
Erin and Page developed the PageRank algorithm, and realized it could have an important role to play in building a search engine far superior to existing ones.
The new algorithm relied on a new kind of technology that analyzed the relevance of the backlinks that connected one Web page to another.
By combining their ideas, the two started using Page’s room as a machine laboratory. From spare parts from inexpensive computers they created a device which they used to connect the nascent search engine with Stanford’s campus network.
Inside the converted Brin’s room, they tested their new search engine designs on the Web.
The rapid growth of their project caused Stanford’s computing infrastructure to experience problems.
Page and Brin used the former’s basic HTML programming skills to set up a simple search page for users, as they did not have a web page developer to create anything visually elaborate.
The program became popular at Stanford, and they suspended their PhD studies to start up Google in a rented garage.
That’s how a billion dollar brand was born.
How does Sergey Brin make money?

He previously ran the secretive Google X division, which made the ill-fated Google glasses.
Sergey is also the richest immigrant in America and has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump’s immigration ban.
In addition, he is one of a number of top executives in large businesses and governments who works for an annual salary of one dollar.
