2Etchmiadzin Cathedral
This church is the Mother Church of the Armenian Apostolic Church, and is located in the city of Vagharshapat.
The Etchmiadzin Cathedral was the first cathedral built in the ancient Armenian Kingdom.
Established in 301 AD, the church was built by the country’s patron Saint Gregory the Illuminator.
And although the building had many renovations throughout the centuries, today it still bears some of the original design.
