This is What Krispy Kreme’s World’s Most Expensive Donut Tastes Like!
Who else wants to taste the most expensive donut? *Raising both hands* Find out how much money you need to pay!
Donuts are a tasty desert favorite by the entire world. But how much money you pay for a normal donut? Not more than a couple of bucks, on the regular basis, right?
Created by Krispy Kreme, the priciest donut is made with highly exclusive ingredients such as Dom Pérignon vintage 2002 champagne jelly and a touch of gold busted Belgian chocolate flower on top edible diamonds.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is an American global donut company and coffeehouse chain with headquarters in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Its founder, Vernon Rudolph bought a yeast-raised recipe from a New Orleans chef, and in 1937 he rented a building and that’s how the company has started.
It took them three days to assemble the donut that has in its ingredients a raspberry and Chateau d’Yquem crème, passion fruit glazing and edible 24-carat gold leaves.
The fancy donut sits on top of a fancy Krispy Kreme Cocktail, made from raspberry and passion fruit syrup, 500-year-old Courvoisier de L’Esprit Cognac and topped with 2002 Dom Pérignon champagne.
The Krispy Kreme deluxe donut was unveiled at Selfridges’ Oxford Street in London, two years ago, and was priced at £1, 000, ($1,214).
If you haven’t developed a sudden appetite for a donut by reading this, let me tell you that this donut is quite special with all that Dom Pérignon champagne jelly and the edible diamonds.
Let me tell you another thing, the world’s most valuable donut was created with a good cause in mine. It was made as part of a fundraising effort that benefits the UK Children’s Trust Charity, an organization which supports children with brain injuries.
Krispy Kreme created the donut to celebrate the National Donut Week, and organized the fundraising as well.
Now that you know that, maybe you want to order two donuts instead of one?
