Well known for its festivities, such as The Festiblues or The Jazz Festival, this place attracts more people year after year.
And its no wonder that famous celebrities such as Gerard Butler and Leonard Cohen have moved here. Without no further talking, let’s get straight to business.
10Joe Beef
We begin our top 10 list with this restaurant located on 2491 Notre-Dame Street West.
Named after Charles ‘Joe-Beef’ McKiernan, who is a Montreal innkeeper from the 1800s, Joe Beef serves seafood and steaks for those of you who prefer these foods.
And the restaurant was the inspiration of David McMillan and Frederic Morin, who released their first cookbook entitled ‘The Art of Living According to Joe Beef‘, as you can see in the second image.
Like Au Pied du Cochon, about which we’ll discuss later, Joe Beef has a menu from which we deduce that the guys are a little greedy. Their menu is all crammed onto a single chalkboard.
Nevertheless, Joe Beef serves tasteful dishes, such as Foie Gras Double Down sandwich and you can also try something from the in-house oyster bar, as well as an exquisite wine.
9Bouillon Bilk
Located on 1595 St-Laurent Boulevard, Bouillon Bilk received only positive reviews.
Chef Francois Nadon and Melanie Blanchette make sure that you’ll receive the best French-inspired dishes. Is the same French-inspired cuisine that attracts locals and foreigners here.
Bouillon Bilk offers mostly seafood, pasta and duck, but there are also exotic dishes, like guinea fowl and deer, and as dessert, foie gras with bananas, smoked apples and sour cream.
The selection of wines is also good here. Without the cost of wine and the tip, a dinner for 2 can end up costing about $100 Canadian.
8Bis Ristorante
Bis Risporante is located on 1229 Rue de la Montagne. You can’t hardly miss it!
The fine dining restaurant features an elegant interior, a diverse menu, and most important, a friendly service. It’s an ideal place to gather with your family.

7Toque!
Opened in 1993, by Normand Laprise and Christine Lamarche, Toque! was on St-Denis street and had only 10 employees for a dining room that could host 55 guests.
In 2004, Toque! moved on 900 Jean-Paul Riopelle Place and since then has been collecting honors, such as CAA Five Diamond Rating.
Also, it received positive reviews from magazines such as wine Spectator, GQ Magazine, Food & Wine and Gourmet.
Offering traditional dishes like suckling pig (artichoke, eggplant, tomate, chanterelle, corn, mushrooms, smoked sauce, roaster garlic puree) as well as an extensive wine list, Toque! is a leader in Quebec’s gastronomy, becoming a learning center for young cooks.
6Au Pied de Cochon
You’ll find Au Pied de Cochon on 536 Avenue Duluth Est, where owner and chef Martin Picard offers courses at the Mezza Luna cooking school, for those of you who wish to learn some of his culinary secrets.
His restaurant first gained attention thanks to Martin Picard’s fries with cheese curds and gravy with a foie gras sauce.

5Tuck Shop

The restaurant is in the good hands of chef Guillaume and pastry chef Brian. Each dessert conceived by chef Brian is a different experience every time.

1Le Club Chasse et Peche
Le Club Chasse et Peche is located on 423 St. Claude Street, and is considered the best restaurant in Montreal.
And with Maitre d’Hubert Marsolais, chef Claude Pelletier and pastry chef Masami Waki, is clearly why.
If you’re craving for some suckling pig risotto or roasted duck, this restaurant is at your service.
Not to mention, desserts are delicious and we recommend ‘The Bomb’, a caramel and milk chocolate tart with a 80% chocolate sorbet.
