This is the highest measured waterfall in North America.
Located in Yosemite National Park, Sierra Nevada, California, Yosemite Falls measures a total of 2.425 feet from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall, making it the 6th highest waterfall in the world.
This breathtaking waterfall consists of 3 sections : Upper Yosemite Fall (1.430 feet), Middle Cascades (675 feet) and Lower Yosemite Fall (the final 320 feet drop).
Here’s something that perhaps not many of you know about. The Ahwahneechee legend.
At the base of the waterfall there was a village of native people of Yosemite Valley, called Ahwahneechee.
They believed that the plunge pool at the waterfall’s base was inhabited by Poloti, spirits of several witches.
