Garrett Camp’s net worth is estimated at $3.9 billion as of November 2026. The Uber shares its co-founder sold in the months around early 2020 would now be worth, on average, about twice what he got for them. The public trail of those sales stops in May 2020, and that gap is why any figure for him is a guess about his share count, not his share price.

How much is Garrett Camp worth in 2026?

Our figure is $3.9 billion, in a range of $2.5 billion to $5.5 billion. This one is a rough estimate: the price of Uber is known to the cent, but the number of shares he still holds isn’t public on anything we could open. His 2019 stake is documented. Everything after 2020 is our assumption.

Public estimates disagree because some apply today’s price to something close to his 2019 stake, while others assume heavy selling. Few deduct the tax on what he sold, or what he has given away.

How Garrett Camp built it

  • Sold shares on a schedule. Form 4 data shows repeated 170,000 share sales from November 2019 to May 2020.
  • Bought back his first startup. He bought StumbleUpon back from eBay within two years of its $75 million sale.
  • Put his own money into Expa. More than half of Expa's $200 million 2022 fund came from Camp himself.

How we got to $3.9 billion

Source Our estimate What it rests on
Uber shares still held $3 billion Assumed 45 million shares at the $66.71 close on November 2, 2026. The share count is derived from filings and assumptions in the section below.
Proceeds of share sales, kept $650 million 32.1 million shares assumed sold for $1.69 billion. We take 30 percent for tax, leaving $1.18 billion, then 45 percent for giving, spending and new ventures. All three are our assumptions.
Expa and other startups $150 million TechCrunch reported more than half of Expa’s $200 million 2022 fund was his own money. We carry that at a $100 million cost, and assume $50 million for older holdings.
Beverly Hills home $70 million He bought a Trousdale Estates mansion in June 2019 for about $72 million. We round it down and use the 2019 price, with no newer valuation available.
Total $3.9 billion The rows add to $3.87 billion.

The $120 million he left on the table in five months

Form 4 data compiled by InsiderTrades shows 20 sales of 170,000 shares each between November 2019 and May 2020, at prices from $23.24 to $40.64. The size never changed and the sales came in pairs two weeks apart, so these look scheduled, not market calls.

Our calculation: 3.4 million shares brought in $106.7 million, an average of $31.39. At $66.71 they would be worth $226.8 million. That is a $120 million difference, before tax, on just the sales we can see. Selling wasn’t necessarily wrong. In those weeks alone the sale price swung from $40.64 to $23.24, and a fixed schedule takes that decision away from the person holding the shares.

How we got to 45 million shares

The start is solid. Money, citing Uber’s IPO prospectus in April 2019, put him at roughly 82 million shares, about 6 percent, the second-largest individual holding. TechCrunch later described his stake at the IPO as 4 percent, so even the start point has some give in it. Had he never sold, 82 million shares would be worth $5.47 billion today.

Then the record thins out. The same table shows holding lines of 34.4 million shares after the November 2019 sale and 24.6 million after December’s, which look like separate vehicles, not a full count. He left Uber’s board in March 2020 and became an observer, and the last sale we can see is dated May 7, 2020. In 2020 he was selling about 8.84 million shares a year at the rate of one sale a week. We assume half that pace for the 6.5 years since, which adds 28.7 million shares to the 3.4 million on record. We also assume about 5 million shares went to charity or other transfers, because he joined the Giving Pledge in 2017. The result: 82 million minus 32.1 million minus 4.9 million is 45 million.

For the sale proceeds, we value the 28.7 million at an assumed $55 average, which gives $1.58 billion, and add the $106.7 million on record.

The company he built before Uber, and the one he is betting on after

StumbleUpon was the first payday. eBay paid $75 million for it in 2007, and he bought it back within two years before folding it into Mix. Expa, his startup studio, started in 2013 with $50 million to invest. Portfolio company Current was valued at $2.2 billion in 2021. In the same interview he called Aero, a luxury jet business, a major opportunity. We give no separate value to either, since his stakes aren’t public.

What would move the figure: Uber itself, above all. The company reports earnings on November 4, 2026. On our assumed share count, every $10 on the stock is $450 million on his balance sheet, which is more than the Expa and home rows combined.
