How much is Nithin Kamath worth in 2026?
We estimate Nithin Kamath’s net worth at $3.8 billion, with a plausible range of $3.1 billion to $4.9 billion. All dollar figures here use Rs 95 to the dollar, about the rate on 30 October 2026.
How Nithin Kamath built it
- Stayed bootstrapped. Zerodha took no venture capital, so the founders kept the whole company.
- Paid himself from profit. Directors' pay of Rs 228 crore in FY25 was 5.4 percent of net profit.
- Gave up fee income. Net transaction charges fell from Rs 400 crore in FY25 to zero in FY26 while profit rose 1.2 percent.

Almost all of the number is one asset, so the stake row carries the weight and its assumptions are spelled out.
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Stake in Zerodha | About $3.8 billion | FY26 net profit times 17.5, a middle multiple between 15 and 20, gives a company worth about $7.9 billion. We assume he owns 48 percent, a little under half because the stake is shared with his brother and others. The split is an assumption, not a filing. |
| Pay since FY23 | About $30 million | Kamath drew Rs 96 crore (about $10 million) in FY25, per a company filing. We assume FY23 and FY24 were similar. |
| Tax on that pay | Minus $10 million | One third of the pay row. |
| Total | About $3.8 billion | $3,807 million, rounded. |
Five years of profit, and what the market adds
Zerodha has not changed hands or sold shares to outsiders, so there is no deal price. Its profit history is the next best anchor: Rs 2,094 crore in FY22, Rs 2,907 crore in FY23, Rs 5,496 crore in FY24, Rs 4,237 crore in FY25 and Rs 4,283 crore in FY26.
Our calculation: those five years add up to Rs 19,017 crore. A 48 percent share is Rs 9,128 crore, or about $0.96 billion, which is roughly a quarter of the $3.8 billion we put on the stake. The other three quarters is what a buyer would pay for profits that have not been earned yet.
A broker that earns almost as much on interest as on trades
In FY26, Inc42 reported, brokerage brought in Rs 2,738 crore. Interest income was Rs 2,269 crore, which is 83 percent as much. Net transaction charges, which were Rs 400 crore the year before, fell to zero, and account maintenance charges were Rs 180 crore. Profit rose 1.2 percent even as the mix shifted. Profit peaked in FY24 and is 22 percent below that high.
Interest income depends on client balances and rates rather than trading volume, so we treat it as less certain than brokerage when picking a multiple.
Why the estimates disagree
Some public estimates give the two brothers a combined figure, some mix them up, and some value Zerodha on revenue rather than profit. We value profit and make the stake assumption visible.
The latest documented events are the FY26 results published in August 2026 and the FY25 filing in which each brother drew Rs 96 crore. Figures move with each year’s profit, any change to trading rules for derivatives, and whether the founders ever sell shares or pay a large dividend.
