How much is Nicole Richie Worth? Nicole Richie Net Worth in 2026
Nicole Richie’s net worth is estimated at $19 million as of November 2026. The Beverly Hills house she and Joel Madden listed at $12.95 million sold four years after they bought it, for about $30,000 more than they paid. By our estimate, House of Harlow, the fashion label she started in 2008, built more of her money than television did.

- Kept working on camera. She moved from The Simple Life to Fashion Star, Great News and a 2026 film role.

Our figure is $19 million, inside a range of $8 million to $35 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. Her contracts have never been published, and the numbers circulating for her Simple Life pay contradict each other by a wide margin, so we set our own and marked them as guesses.
This is her figure alone. We don’t count Joel Madden’s music money or anything belonging to the Richie family. Estimates built from the $55 million brand sales number below would run high, because sales are not what the owner keeps. On that report, her share is one twentieth.
How we got to $19 million
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Fashion income, after tax | $14.9 million | A 2012 report put her at 5 percent of about $55 million in combined sales, or $2.75 million. It gives no period, so we read it as one strong year. Our assumption is a lower $1.5 million a year for 18 years (2009 to 2026), or $27 million, with 55 percent kept after tax and fees. If the $55 million instead covered her first four years, income is nearer $700,000 a year and our total falls to about $8 million. |
| Her stake in House of Harlow | $2 million | The only value we found, a 2015 report of about $2 million. She is listed as owner. It is old, and sales since then are not public. A brand paying her $1.5 million a year should be worth more than this, so one of those numbers is off. We keep the only reported value. |
| Television, film and books, after tax | $6.6 million | Assumption. $1 million a season for five Simple Life seasons, plus $7 million for everything since, is $12 million, at 55 percent. |
| Home sales, her half | $0.8 million | Two sales, minus assumed 5 percent selling costs: about $1.6 million of gains, split with Madden. Math below. Her current home is left out, since earnings above already paid for it. |
| Living costs, her half | Minus $10 million | Assumption: $500,000 a year for 20 years. |
| Investment returns | $4.6 million | Assumption. The cash rows less spending leave about $12.3 million. Half of that, $6.1 million, is our guess for what was invested on average for 15 years at 5 percent simple return. |
| Total | $19 million | The rows sum to about $18.9 million. |
$55 million in sales, a $2 million label
FashionUnited wrote in 2015 that The Hollywood Reporter put her combined lines at about $55 million in sales, with Richie reportedly taking 5 percent. In the same piece, Business Insider valued House of Harlow 1960 at about $2 million. Those numbers look like they can’t both be true, and they can. One is what shoppers spent across her lines. The other is what one brand was said to be worth.
Our calculation: 5 percent of $55 million is $2.75 million, which means $52.25 million of that sales figure was never hers to keep. Her reps declined to comment at the time, so treat both numbers as press reports. Wikipedia dates the sales report to May 2012 and says it covers House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate together.
The brand began in October 2008 as 50 pieces of costume jewelry priced at about $50 to $150, then added clothing, shoes, eyewear, swimwear and candles. In fall 2024 it dropped the 1960 and became plain House of Harlow. No sale of the company turned up in our search.
The house that went nowhere
Reports citing Realtor.com say she and Madden paid $10.15 million in May 2021, listed at $12.95 million in July 2024 and sold for $10.18 million in 2025, a 21 percent cut from the asking price. Our calculation: at an assumed 5 percent selling cost of about $510,000, the sale lost about $480,000 once a $30,000 gain is counted.
The previous house did better. Adele bought it from Richie in 2021. That report gives no sale price, but it has her listing at $12 million for a $2 million profit, which implies about $10 million. Reports on what the couple paid in 2015 differ: one 2015 story said $8.2 million, and the Hello report says $6.7 million. Taking the midpoint of $7.45 million gives a gain of $2.55 million. Add the $30,000 and take off about $1.01 million of selling costs on the two sales, and about $1.57 million remains. Half is about $0.8 million.
Screen work, and a bill we won’t count
She has kept working: Paris & Nicole: The Encore in 2024, a role credited as Workaholic in the film Stop! That! Train!, which premiered in Los Angeles on May 18, 2026, and a 2026 guest spot on Running Point, her credits show. No fee for any of these has been reported. The reported $1 million for baby photos in 2008 was never confirmed by the couple, so it isn’t in the ledger.
The figure would move most on a sale or new license for House of Harlow, since the brand numbers we have are more than a decade old. A fresh report of current sales could shift it several million dollars in either direction.
