How Taking Risks Will Lead to Major improvements in your lifestyle design!
“We are all alive but very few of us truly live” – that’s one phrase that always made me consider whether or not I’m living at my full potential and along the way I think i might have figured it out and it was easier than I thought, the answer revolves around: Taking risks.
Now I’m not talking about becoming an adrenaline junkie, although from my personal experience I have never felt more alive than in the moments when life could have easily slipped me by, but that’s another story.
There’s a weird feeling when you overcome your fear, mostly the fear of unknown and usually the result is amazing.
If you’re unsure what you should do with your life in order to feel like you’re alive make sure you follow your fears; if you are scared to do it then you have to!
There is even scientific backing to this, when one achieves success or overcomes an obstacle your brain produces dopamine the main chemical correlated to happiness and pleasure. As your brain is pumping dopamine your senses seem to come alive and you feel ecstatic.
Happiness is not a permanent sentiment, it comes and goes, but we spend our entire lives in its pursuit. So what are the main areas where taking risk can move you forward?
1. Taking risks will lead to getting the partner you’ve always wanted!
Unless you’re ready to settle for mediocrity you must jump in with both feet and go for the big win, otherwise you’ll end up trapped in what seems like a safe relationship but you’ll never be able to shake off that feeling of “what if” and regret is what kills you early on.
Even if you get rejected you’re still ahead of those who wanted to but never had the courage to go after what they desire.
Every successful relationship starts with a little tremble inside yourself that gets you making that first step.
2. Taking risks will lead to winning the financial game
Everyone has an internal entrepreneur inside of them and 6 out of 10 people want to start their own business! That makes you wonder why don’t more people do?
Well 9 out of 10 businesses fail, people are so afraid of failure that they never even try in the first place. That’s what makes those that do make it seem like untouchable, fearless individuals.
3. Taking risks will lead to discovering places you never knew about!
Just how many times you’ve considered buying a plane ticket to somewhere no-one knows your name?
Being a traveler vs being a tourist, discovering places and meeting people is one of the main wishes on everyone’s timeline but very few are willing to take that risk, once again due to the unknown.
While most consider the unknown threatening, there are some that feed of it and embrace it.
They are those telling stories, those that people love to be around, they have that mesmerizing appeal to them that just brings people towards them.
The things you’ll learn and discover about yourself while traveling cannot be learned in any other environment and you will never get a better education than the one that’s self-taught!
4. Taking risks will lead to being significant!
What comes after achieving success? Most think that success is the end goal and once achieved there isn’t anything else to do.
Those that do manage to become greatly successful don’t settle just for that, they go after significance.
With great achievement comes a greater sense of morality and after embracing risk enough times one starts considering the full potential he could have upon the world. The dreams get bigger, the bets also and so do the rewards.
The only way one could change the world is by becoming so big, so influential that the world will follow, and that only happens if your actions are bigger than reality, that’s how the world is shaped by dreamers willing to take action!
5. Taking risks will allow you to be yourself!
I am myself, I know who am I, what I stand for and I am as happy as I can be!
There is no greater personal achievement that fully understanding and coming to peace with your inner-self.
Embracing life, understanding it, finding your purpose and what you were meant to do is the final step in your development! Trust yourself, take the risk and discover who you really are and all life will become purposeful afterwards.
Hopefully this little story made you reconsider what you’re missing by not living to your full potential and you’ll open up to take more risks.
Life will change once you decide it is you who is in charge of what happens next and whether regret will be part of your future!
Live a memorable life!
