The Destitute Cemetery City of Guatemala
So far so good, we started with a cemetery for our number 8 scariest place on earth, but the entire picture makes you run out of it, considering that this cemetery isn’t a place for sane people.
Because the City of Guatemala is suffering from congestion and a large rate of death, the cemetery transformed in a proper living city.
The graves are stacked one on the other, building up in the sky and every day you could find on the rows between the streets many people.
The thing is that you have to pay to bury your sibling there and missing a payment means that he could be evacuated and left on the rows or just thrown to a special place.
So let us picture the entire cemetery: it has hundred of graves, stacking up to the sky, people are dancing, singing and partying on the rows, tons of bodies lie around the place hopping someone will come and claim them or throw them into a communal pot, crows all over the place, scavenging for some dead person’s flesh and people selling stuff, sleeping on stands, it’s like you are in a dead town where you don’t have to be concerned by the fact that you are surrounded by bodies everywhere.
