Tophet, Tunisia
Opened to tourist, Tophet is the second scariest place on earth, that you could find in Tunisia.
The Sanctuary of Tophet is formed from a cave and altars in these caves where there were found urns and graveyards that date to the fourth century B.C.
What do the urns contain? Well, they have the remains of children who by scientist research are no older than 4 years.
The fact that “Tophet” is translated into “hell” and the fact that there is an ancient depiction of the place being used to sacrifice young kids for the love of a Carthaginian deity, makes you rethink if you want to visit it.
The place accounts for over 20,000 burned and buried bodies of little kids who were supposedly killed for the likes of the Baal Hammon and his wife, Tanit, two gods who were the supreme deities to the Carthaginians who supposedly sacrificed their youngsters to them.
