We begin our top list with Karma, a fine dining restaurant located at Aegean Sea, Oia 847 02.
It is located behind the tower clock and offers the ideal setting for a romantic dinner.
Its design is combined with Greek inspired cuisine, friendly staff and soft music, making your experience memorable.
Not to mention, the restaurant is also available for wedding receptions for up to 45 people.
What we recommend: Cold cucumber soup with tomato vinaigrette and tomato soup with egg benedict and spring onion.
9Pelekanos
Located at Nikolaou Nomikou, Oia 847 02, Pelekanos is a good place for romance, local cuisine, scenic views and special occasions.
At the fine dining restaurant, the recipes originate from the Greek and Mediterranean cuisine.
Its owner, Loukas Pelekanos is known for his love and artistry in what he’s doing, aiming at offering his guests the best experiences.
Pelekanos received only positive reviews on TripAdvisor, such as: 1) ‘This restaurant is an absolute must! We loved it so much that we went twice while in Oia. The food is amazing, reasonable prices, incredible service and one of the best views in Oia. The restaurant is cozy and has a great vibe – they play great soft jazz music. DO NOT MISS THIS RESTAURANT!‘
2) ‘Our hotel recommended this place and we were not let down. Food, great. Service, yep. View, one of the best to watch the sunset. All around it was such a unique fun experience that we had to jump on a rate it highly.
Ask for Chrisa, who said she usually works days but picked up a night shift. She was attentive (but not overly or annoying) and all around perfect. Made our night! This would also (I’m assuming) be a great lunch spot to take it all in.’
8Mystique
Next on our top list is Mystique, a lovely restaurant located at Thera 847 02.
Mystique is actually a hotel, with a restaurant of the same name. And it has more than 1 restaurants, such as Charisma, Asea Lounge and Bar and Aura Bar.
As the people at Mystique say ‘Refined dining with Mediterranean flair‘. This is what you’ll get if you choose to eat at Mystique. And we guarantee you’ll never regret it!
Not only your meal will be delicious, but Mystique is also one of the best places to book in Santorini.
It offers 22 luxury air-conditioned guestrooms with minibars, TVs with DVD players and Wi-Fi.
71800
The award-winning 1800 restaurant is located at Aegean Sea, Oia 847 02.
Housed in a restored mansion built around 1845, 1800 provides contemporary comforts, both indoors and outdoors on the roof garden.
The restaurant was awarded with 2 ‘Golden Chef’s Hat’ in 2005 and 2007.
It serves creative traditional Greek dishes with Mediterranean influences.
The dishes are presented in an asymmetrical fashion, as each plate resembles a canvas, painted by the Chef. The tables inside the restaurant are embellished with sugar-white tablecloths, making the restaurant look even more exquisite.
And the fine aroma of the Greek and international dishes blends perfectly with the smell of the island breeze.
6Selene
Established in 1986, in Fira, by Yiogos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis, Selene can now be found in another location, Pyrgos.
Under the attention of Chef Nikos Boukis and Executive Chef Thodoris Pananikolaou, Selene offers cooking courses for the last 10 years.
What we recommend: Dakos (rusk barley bread sand, tomato jelly, basil snow, Santorini chloro cheese cream), Dolmadaki Avgolomeno (pork, egg, herring eggs), and Langoustines (Santorini zucchini, lenon-sea urchin vinegraitte and zuccini flowers).
But what is a MUST is their salad, which tastes as the ingredients were just picked out of the garden that day.
Plus, their fennel pie is absolutely delicious.
5Sphynx
This lovely fine dining place has been accommodated in a restored mansion in Fira since 1991.
The place offers panoramic views of Caldera and if you’re there just in time to see the sunset, you are lucky.
Sphinx’s owner is also its Chef, George Psychas.
He creates Mediterranean cuisine which showcases the best of Santorini’s products and the freshest of the Aegean’s Sea fish.
The restaurant features 2 dining rooms, built in the traditional way, and 3 verandas, as well as 1 private veranda for special occasions.
Based on extra virgin Cretan olive oil, the cuisine offers a wide list of dishes, and the best are the traditional Greek mousaka served in a clay pot, Souvlaki with tuna, Black risotto with cuttlefish ink and spinach, and Seafood soup with vegetables, shellfish and shrimp.
4Feredini
On #4 we have Feredini, which is our favorite restaurant in Santorini.
In the village of Oia, Stavros Sigalas and Christos Markozanes created this stunning outdoor dining area, where they serve a traditional Santorini menu with Mediterranean flavors.
Distinguished service, romantic ambiance, mesmerizing views, lovely location, and ‘Creative Greek Cuisine’ (as they call it), make this fine dining place one of the best restaurants in all Greece.
What we recommend: Deserts! All of them: yogurt mousse on ‘kataifi‘ nest with orange syrup, Millefeuille with chocolate cookie detritus and fresh strawberries, Butter caramel tart with bananas and fresh whipped cream and Chocolate brownies with white chocolate pieces pistachio and butter Scotch ice cream.
3Archipelagos
Located in Santorini’s capital, Fira, the restaurant is roofed under a renovated building from 1860.
Its location, right across the volcano, has made this restaurant famous all around the world.
Using only traditional products, such as fava, caper and tomatoes, Archipelagos serves some of the best dishes in town.
Highlights include Greek salad, prawns, lamb and pasta.
What you should know is that the prices are rather high, but worth it, as many reviewers have said: 1)’A must when in Fira – the food was delicious and the view from the table looking out towards the Caldera was unbelievable!’
2) ‘From the view, to the food to the service….everything was top notch and very well done!! We loved it and look forward to visiting again. The prawns were AMAZING! HUGE! Great flavor!
Our table was right by the wall overlooking the water. The moon was shining on the water and we could see a cruise ship in the moonlight. It was magical.’
2Ambrosia
Located at Cliffside Terrace at Village Center, Oia, Ambrosia offers you one of the island’s most tranquil terraces.
The luxury restaurant features 2 small terraces, offering an intimate setting. And their seafood, Mediterranean meat dishes, traditional vegetarian specialties and salads will make your taste buds tingle.
All you need at Ambrosia for a great experience is the candlelight at your table and the stars over your head.
Their menu include neoclassic Greek cuisine, enriched with international flavors.
What we recommend: Fresh salmon tartar with finely chopped avocado, grapefruit, chili and lemongrass.
1Pyrgos
The best luxury restaurant in Santorini has to be Pyrgos! Located in the beautiful village of Pyrgos, the restaurant has been serving the finest products for 25 years.
The place is built on levels, with large windows, offering stunning views of the island of Santorini.
After its renovation in 2009, Pyrgos has specially designed reception halls with all the facilities you need to organize a wedding reception.
What we recommend: fluffy eggplant pastries, lamb, and lobster.
Also, you can choose from their wide list of wines, which were carefully selected from the famous Santorini vineyards.
