3.Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica
Number 3 on our list can seem to resemble another national park we presented earlier, but what i said in the begging that these national parks are unique and hand picked is quite true because this is the place where your normal park activities are snorkeling and scuba diving.
Some more activities like bird and wildlife watching or hiking are possible here because the variety of animals here is pretty impressive and also the area has light trails to explore the place.
You can rent surfboards or enjoy more that 20 dive sites for scuba diving, but also join a local tour on a kayak to ride the canals and refuges in and out the ocean.
So the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is formed out of the coastal communities of Playa Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva and Mazanillo from the Cocles River to Sixaola River on the border with Panama.
This is an amazing place where you can enjoy sightseeing and animals you usually don’t see that much like two- and three-toed sloths, the unique toucans iguanas and one of a kind turtles like the leatherback turtles, the largest sea turtles in the world.
This is the perfect mix between jungle and marshland, lagoons and reefs and coves and coastlines, the most important part of every national water park and refuge being the crystal clear waters and the corals who live in these water with other species of fish that can amaze you.
