The village of Snag is positioned in the bowl-shaped valley of the White River and Snag Creek.

At first, Snag was settled during the Klondike Gold Rush, and now this village is filled with meteorologists, radio operators and aircraft maintenance men, all living at the airport barracks.

The record? On February 3, 1947, the lowest temperature for North America was recorded here, in the village of Snag : -83.0 degrees Fahrenheit ( or -63.9 degrees Celsius).
