1Rainbow Beach, Queensland, Australia

Located in Queensland, Australia, Rainbow Beach ranks #1 on our top 10 list.

Rainbow Beach is a coastal town located in south eastern Queensland, Australia.

Originally known as Black Beach, it was later renamed after the coloured sands near the town, south of Fraser Island.

Rainbow Beach, as its name suggests, features a unique, multicoloured sand (a palette of 74 different hues of sand).

These hues are a combination of iron oxide and leached vegetable dye.  And it’s up to you to search for all the 74 lovely hues.
