How much is Anne Wojcicki worth in 2026?

Our figure is about $140 million, and we’d rather be plain about how soft that is. Her 23andMe shares are the part we’re surest of, and we value them at nothing. Everything else rests on inference from bids she made in early 2025, since she files no public accounts and no outlet has shown her private holdings.

How Anne Wojcicki built it

  • Kept bidding after each rejection. She moved from a 40 cent offer in 2024 to a $305 million nonprofit bid in 2025.
  • Put her own money forward. She committed an extra $20 million in March 2025 to fund the company's operations.
  • Rebuilt the company as a nonprofit. TTAM bought the assets and now runs them as the 23andMe Research Institute.

How we got to $140 million

This ledger is mostly assumptions, and each one is marked.

Source Our estimate What it rests on
23andMe shares $0 The stock fell more than 99 percent from its peak, the company filed for Chapter 11 in March 2025 and its assets were sold. A nonprofit has no shares to hand her. We found no shareholder recovery figure, so we count none.
Cash her 2025 bids imply $32 million to $62 million MedCity News says her 41 cent offer was fully financed by her, and she added $20 million for operations. The offer is $12 million by our math, or $42 million in a Fortune editor’s note. Add $20 million to each.
Everything else she holds $94 million Our assumption. A founder rarely commits all her liquid wealth to one rescue, so we treat the $47 million midpoint as a third of her wealth: $141 million in all, $94 million of it elsewhere.
Total $140 million The rows add to $141 million, rounded. The range is wide because the one-third is a judgment.

The 41 cent question

The two public numbers for her last solo bid don’t match, and a little arithmetic shows why we trust the lower one. Financier Worldwide reports $2.53 a share valued the company’s equity at about $74.7 million. That implies 29.5 million shares. By our calculation, 41 cents on all of them is $12.1 million. Fortune’s editor’s note says $42 million. Her own shares didn’t need buying, so the true cash need was lower still. Four days later she added a right to a further $2.53 a share if revenue milestones were met, MedCity News reported. That money comes due only if those milestones hit, so we leave it out.

The trend tells the story better than any single figure. Her February 2025 offer with New Mountain Capital collapsed when the firm withdrew on February 28. Her August 2024 offer of 40 cents was rejected. By June 2025 her nonprofit was bidding $305 million, against $256 million from Regeneron, for substantially all the assets.

What $305 million bought

Our calculation: the 23andMe Research Institute says its database covers over 14 million people, so $305 million works out to about $21.79 per person. Against the roughly $6 billion the company was worth at its 2021 listing, the price is 5.1 percent. It is also a heavy bill for a charity to carry. Forbes Argentina reports a plan to raise $100 million over four years, or $25 million a year. At that pace, raising the purchase price alone would take 12.2 years.

Who paid is the biggest hole in this page. The coverage we opened identifies the buyer as her nonprofit and says nothing about where the $305 million came from. Money given to a nonprofit is no longer hers in any case, so we don’t count it either way.

Her marriage to Google co-founder Sergey Brin ended in 2015. Any financial terms are private, and we don’t guess at them beyond the row above.

Why other estimates disagree

Public estimates run from close to ours up to several times it. Older ones still carry some value for 23andMe stock, and some appear to assume wealth from her marriage that has never been documented.

What would move the number

A disclosed donor list for the $305 million would be the largest single correction. If she gave a big share of it, she was far richer in 2025 than we say, and poorer afterward. On June 18, 2026, the institute named Hillary Aiken its first head of philanthropy, so its fundraising numbers may start to appear. A court record of shareholder payouts would also fill in the first row.
