How much is Katrina Lake worth in 2026?
We put Lake at about $150 million. The share count and the sale prices come from filings. The tax rate, the yearly spending and the return on her cash are our assumptions, and they move the answer by tens of millions. An exact figure would be false precision.
How Katrina Lake built it
- Sold on a schedule. Filings show regular sales from 2018, about 100,000 shares in many months, for $180.0 million in total.
- Listed at 34. Stitch Fix went public on November 17, 2017 at $15 a share, six years after she founded it.
- Kept control with Class B stock. Her Class B shares carried 29.22 percent of the votes in October 2025 on about 5.7 percent of the shares.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Stitch Fix shares still held | $20 million | The October 2025 proxy shows 7,609,988 Class B shares in her revocable trust. We take off the 413,435 shares she has sold since, because the next row counts that money, which leaves about 7.2 million. Some of those sales may have come from options. At the $2.79 close on November 2, 2026 that is $20.1 million. |
| Stock sold, after tax | $123 million | Insider filings compiled by OpenInsider show 7,513,340 shares sold from March 2018 to February 2026 for $180.0 million. Fortune reported about $15.2 million more at the IPO. That makes $195.2 million. We assume 37 percent federal and California tax and keep 63 percent. |
| Returns on that cash | $30 million | Assumption. $181.6 million of those sales came by 2021, or $114.4 million after our tax rate. We assume 4 percent a year for six years, which adds $30 million. Nothing about her portfolio is public. |
| Spending and gifts | Minus $22.5 million | Assumption: $2.5 million a year for nine years, 2018 through 2026. No figure is public. |
| Total | $150 million | $150.5 million from the rows above, rounded. |
Two things sit outside the table. She held options on 786,945 more shares in October 2025, but the $3.64 exercise price on the ones she used in July 2025 is above today’s stock price, so we count them at nothing. We also did not subtract what she paid to exercise options over the years, because most of those prices are not in the pages we opened. Some sales ran through family trusts, so part of this money may be shared.
She sold at $23.96. It trades at $2.79.
Here is our calculation. $180.0 million divided by 7,513,340 shares gives an average sale price of $23.96, which is 8.6 times the November 2 price. Her highest price in the record came on January 19, 2021: 131,327 shares at $80.51, or about $10.6 million. Her largest sale by value came that June, $11.9 million at $59.63. Her remaining 7.2 million shares at that price would have been worth about $579 million. They are worth $20.1 million now, a fall of 96.5 percent.
Put another way, $195.2 million of sales plus a $20.1 million stake is $215.3 million of Stitch Fix money in total, and about 91 percent of it has already left the stock. Selling on a schedule was the most profitable thing she did after founding the company. Selling about 100,000 shares in many months now looks very sensible.
A vote far bigger than the money
The same proxy gives her 29.22 percent of the votes through Class B stock. With 134.2 million shares outstanding in October 2025, her 7.6 million shares then were 5.7 percent of the company by our math. At that count and $2.79, Stitch Fix is valued at about $374 million, against fiscal 2026 revenue of $1.35 billion. The share count is a year old, so treat that as approximate.
From $204 million on day one
Stitch Fix listed on November 17, 2017, at $15 a share. Lake was 34. Fortune valued her 15.4 percent stake at $204.4 million that day and noted she had sold at least a million shares for about $15.2 million. Her stake in Grubhub, where she was a director, came to $53,895. It has no row in our ledger.
She ran the company as CEO until July 2021, came back as interim CEO from January to June 2023, and is listed as Executive Chairperson in the proxy. She also sits on the board of Recruit Holdings and Glossier, but we found no fee or stake figures, so neither has a ledger row.
Fiscal 2026, and why the numbers vary
Stitch Fix reported on September 23, 2026 that fiscal 2026 revenue rose 6.4 percent to $1,348.1 million, with a net loss of $12.6 million. Its forecast for the quarter ended October 31 was revenue down 4.1 to 5.6 percent. Her latest sale in the record we opened was on February 2, 2026: 8,835 shares at $5.01. The stock has since lost close to half its value.
Public estimates vary because many of them value an old stake at an old price, or stop at the share count and ignore more than $190 million of sales. Few say what they assume for tax.
What would move the figure
Each $1 on the share price changes the stake by about $7.2 million, so the stock matters less than it used to. Disclosure of what she does with the cash would matter much more: at 7 percent returns instead of 4, the returns row nearly doubles.
