How much is Mustafa Suleyman Worth? Mustafa Suleyman Net Worth in 2026

How much is Mustafa Suleyman worth in 2026?
Our figure is $50 million, inside a wide range of $25 million to $150 million. The deal prices are public. His stakes and pay packages are not, so most of the ledger below is labelled assumption, and each assumption can be swapped for your own.
Public estimates run several times higher, mostly because they treat company prices as personal money: they credit him with a large slice of the DeepMind sale and of Inflection’s $4 billion valuation, or count Microsoft stock that hasn’t vested. Investors had first claim on Inflection, and the Microsoft shares arrive over a decade.
How Mustafa Suleyman built it
- Started things before the money came. He helped set up a youth helpline as a teenager and co-founded DeepMind in 2010.
- Sold early to a bigger owner. He co-founded DeepMind in 2010 and Google bought it in 2014.
- Took long stock over quick cash. Reports say his Microsoft package includes stock that vests over 10 years.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| DeepMind sale, 2014 | $24.5 million | Early reports put the price at $400 million and Wikipedia cites £400 million. We use $500 million, our assumption. Assumption: he held 7 percent when it sold, or $35 million, with 30 percent lost to tax. We found no filing that shows his stake. |
| Pay at DeepMind and Google, 2014 to 2022 | $10 million | Assumption: $2.5 million a year for 8 years, or $20 million, half left after tax. He left Google in January 2022. |
| Microsoft stock and pay already vested | $19.5 million | Fast Company reported salary, bonuses and stock vesting over 10 years, value undisclosed. Assumption: $150 million over the decade. About 2.6 years in, 26 percent is $39 million, half left after tax. |
| Inflection equity he may still hold | $5 million | Assumption. Investors kept their equity in what remained, and a source told Fast Company the remaining business has far less upside. Founder holdings were not reported. |
| Living costs | minus $10 million | Assumption: $800,000 a year for 12.5 years, since the 2014 sale. |
| Total | $49 million | Rounded to $50 million. Almost all of it rests on assumptions, and the deal prices are the only hard numbers. |
The $4 billion valuation that never became cash
Inflection was valued at $4 billion in June 2023. Nine months later Microsoft agreed to pay $620 million for a license and $33 million for a waiver of claims over hiring its staff, and most of the roughly 70 employees moved across. Reports of the investor terms give a way to test how much was left for founders.
By our math, the promised returns were bigger than the check. First-round backers put in $225 million and were promised 1.5 times that, or $337.5 million. Second-round backers put in $1.3 billion and were promised 1.1 times, or $1.43 billion. Together that is about $1.77 billion against $653 million, a mismatch TechCrunch flagged at the time. Fast Company’s documents showed about $380 million going to buy back equity. A founder with 10 percent of Inflection would have held $400 million on paper in 2023. We carry $5 million, because nothing we could open shows founders being paid ahead of those investors.
The same source put the whole deal, pay included, above $1 billion. Subtract $653 million and at least $347 million was left for compensation across everyone who moved. Our $150 million for Suleyman assumes he gets 43 percent of that floor.
A taxi driver’s son with a Microsoft vesting schedule
His Syrian father drove a taxi and his English mother was a nurse. He dropped out of Oxford at 19, helped set up a Muslim Youth Helpline as a teenager and worked on human rights policy for London’s mayor before DeepMind. He co-founded DeepMind in 2010, and Google bought it in 2014. In 2022 he joined Greylock as a venture partner, then co-founded Inflection. His book, The Coming Wave, came out in September 2023. We found no sales or advance figure, so it adds nothing to the ledger.
What changed in late 2025 and 2026
On November 6, 2025, Microsoft set up a superintelligence team under him, with Inflection co-founder Karén Simonyan as chief scientist. That December he talked about the prices paid for individual researchers and put the cost of competing at the frontier in the hundreds of billions of dollars, none of which is his. In a March 17, 2026 reorganization, Copilot moved under Jacob Andreou and Suleyman kept the superintelligence and in-house model work. No report says his pay package changed.
The biggest swing in the figure is time. Staying through the full vesting period would release the other $111 million of our assumed package, about $55.5 million after tax, and take our estimate to roughly $105 million before any change in Microsoft’s share price. A published pay figure or founder stake would replace our assumptions overnight.
