How much is Sridhar Vembu worth in 2026?
We estimate Vembu at about $340 million. Zoho is easy to value and hard to attribute: it is large, profitable and private. This one is a rough estimate: the company’s finances are documented, but the ownership figures come from fiscal 2022 filings as reported by the press and may have changed since. We state our assumptions and give a range of $250 million to $1.4 billion. His stake is the main uncertainty: Inc42 reports it was 43 percent in a December 2010 company document and 5 percent in the FY22 filings, after a series of transactions it does not detail.
How Sridhar Vembu built it
- Refused outside funding. Zoho has never raised venture money and still reported ₹3,191 crore of profit for fiscal 2025.
- Kept the company private. Zoho is unlisted, so profits stay inside a family-held business that earned ₹12,313 crore in revenue.
- Built from a rural base. Press describes him living near Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu while running Zoho.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| His 5 percent of Zoho | $336 million | FY25 net profit of ?3,191 crore (year to March 2025, MediaNama reported) is about $336 million at our working rate of 95 rupees to the dollar. At 20 times earnings, our assumption, Zoho is worth $6.72 billion. Inc42, citing FY22 filings, put his own stake at 5 percent. $6.72 billion times 0.05 is $336 million. |
| Dividends and past pay | $0, not counted | No page we opened gives Zoho dividends or his pay, so we add nothing. This leans cautious. |
| Siblings’ shares (Radha 47.8 percent, Sekar 35.2 percent) | $0, not his | On our valuation they would be $3.2 billion and $2.4 billion. The filings put them in his siblings’ names, so we do not count them. If he kept an economic interest in them, the figure would be far higher. |
Total: $336 million, which we round to $340 million. Our calculation: ?3,191 crore divided by 95 is $336 million, times 20 is $6.72 billion, times 0.05 is $336 million. Dollar figures use a rate of about 95 rupees to the dollar for early November 2026, which we did not check against a live quote. The 20 times multiple is our assumption, not a market price: Zoho is private and has never had a priced round.
Profit that fell while revenue grew 18 percent
MediaNama reported in April 2026, citing filings, that Zoho’s consolidated revenue rose about 17.8 percent to ?12,313 crore in fiscal 2025 while net profit slipped to ?3,191 crore from ?3,299 crore. Expenses jumped about 30.5 percent to roughly ?9,216 crore. That is the latest dated fact we have, and it is the reason we do not stretch the multiple above 20.
Who owns what
Inc42, citing Zoho’s FY22 filings with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, listed his sister Radha Vembu at 47.8 percent, his brother Sekar Vembu at 35.2 percent, co-founder Tony Thomas at 8 percent and Sridhar Vembu at 5 percent. Our calculation: his 5 percent of a $6.72 billion company is $336 million, while Radha’s 47.8 percent alone would be $3.2 billion. The three siblings together hold 88 percent, which would be $5.9 billion. If shares have moved since 2022, or if he holds more than the filings show, the figure changes: at 10 percent his stake would be $672 million and at 20 percent $1.34 billion, which is why the range runs up to $1.4 billion.
Why estimates disagree
Public estimates probably run far higher because some treat the whole family block as his. Our calculation uses the 5 percent reported for him, since the filings put the rest in his sister’s and brother’s names.
A ?12,313 crore company with village offices
Wikipedia says he moved to Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu in 2019, and that Zoho opened its Tenkasi office in 2011. In January 2025 he stepped down as CEO to become chief scientist, and Shailesh Kumar Davey took over as CEO. Neither change affects the ownership figures above.
What would move the figure
Any Zoho share sale, a published shareholding pattern, or a profit swing. Zoho has never raised outside funding, so there is no priced round to anchor on.
