10Herberg Vlissinghe, Belgium – 1515
And we begin with Bruges’ oldest pub, Herberg Vlissinghe.
Located in Bruges, Belgium, on Blekersstraat 2, the bar was established in 1515.
And today it has the same popularity as it had many years ago, thanks to its fine menu.
Herberg Vlissinghe received only positive reviews, and these are some of them : 1) ‘Lovely beer and a nice glass of cava. Selection of games to play, we played backgammon for hours. Had lasagne and cheese and pickles which were both lovely. Very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend. ‘
2) ‘ Spent our last evening in Brugge here. Wanted to check it out as it is the oldest pub in Brugge. It is back an alley, off the road, but easy to get to and can be seen from the road. This is a neighborhood pub and seemed to be a family favorite. Food is simple but good as are the drinks and all reasonable.
Did not get outside as the weather was cool when we were there, but the atmosphere inside was congenial and cozy. Loved the big old fireplace in the dining room! ‘
Back your bags! We’re going to Italy! –>
