1The Bingley Arms, England – 905
If you travel to England and want to go to the oldest drinking place, where it all began, the Bingley Arms is the place!
Located in Bardsey, Leeds, this pub dates back to 905 AD, although the official records show it opened in 953 AD.
Originally named The Priests Inn, this bar apparently served as a safe house for persecuted Catholic priests, as well as a courthouse.
Today the building is almost completely original, with few renovations, and still has the same old Dutch over used for baking bread.
