The Snowmobile
From water sports to winter activities is a long way, but for Joseph-Armand Bombardier it wasn’t so hard to become the inventor of the snowmobile.
With a thing for mechanics and an early start with mechanical devices and toys, the young French-Canadian made it clear that he wanted to do something with this domain.
He first repaired for his father an old engine and later in the year 1922 at the age of 15 he managed to build a prototype with his brother a sled with driven by a propeller and a Ford Model T engine.
This has been the first snowmobile ever built and the fact that he was working in the mechanical domain, for the upcoming years gave him the opportunity to perfect his invention and be recognized for it, managing to finally produce his snowmobile in 1959.
