The Princess of Wales and Prince Charles’ first wife, Diana, was the 4th child of John Spencer and his first wife, the Honourable Frances Roche, daughter of the 4th Baron Fermoy.
Her wedding with Prince of Wales was seen by a global TV audience of over 750 million.

On August 31, 1997, Princess Diana was fatally injured in a car crash, which also caused the death of her driver and her companion. Diana’s coffin with the royal flag was brought by Prince Charles and her 2 sisters from Paris to London.

Her funeral took place on September 6, in Westminster Abbey, where millions of people attended, offering flowers, cards and candles.

‘Candle in the Wind’, performed by Elton John, was a tribute to Princess Diana, and became globally famous.
