How much is Vijay Shekhar Sharma Worth? Vijay Shekhar Sharma Net Worth in 2026
Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s net worth is estimated at $930 million as of November 2026. It rests on one listed holding, about 57.8 million shares of Paytm’s parent company (Smallcase shows the filing data), and on a question that most lists skip: who gets the money from the other block of Paytm shares he controls but, by the terms of a 2023 deal, does not fully own. That block began at 10.3 percent and is about 7.2 percent after an August 2026 sale.

How much is Vijay Shekhar Sharma worth in 2026?
We estimate Vijay Shekhar Sharma is worth about $930 million, with a wide band around it. The low end counts only the shares he holds directly. The high end counts the shares held by his holding company as if they were all his.
Other estimates probably disagree for that reason. One reading of the shareholding gives him 19.42 percent, the sum of his direct stake and the block his company acquired in 2023. Another gives 9 percent, his direct stake alone. The difference is a block whose economic rights stayed with the seller.
How Vijay Shekhar Sharma built it
- Took ownership of a big block. In August 2023 his holding company took over 10.3 percent of Paytm from Antfin.
- Stayed in the stock. He kept a 9.04 percent direct holding in Paytm while his company took on the 2023 block.
- Waited for profit. Paytm reported 225 crore rupees of quarterly profit in October 2026, against 21 crore a year before.

Paytm is listed in Mumbai, so the ledger starts from a share count and a share price. We convert rupees at our working rate of about 95 to the dollar for early November 2026, which we did not check against a live quote.
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Paytm holding | $1.01 billion | 57,845,053 shares, 9.04 percent of the company in the shareholding data filed for 31 March 2026, at the 1,652.70 rupee price of October 27, 2026. That is about 9,560 crore rupees. |
| Block held by his holding company | $0 | In August 2023, Inc42 reported, a company he owns took over 10.3 percent of Paytm from Ant Group’s Antfin. He holds the ownership and votes, but Antfin kept the economic rights through convertible debentures. On 18 August 2026, Inc42 reported that company sold about 1.92 crore shares at ?1,535.10, around ?2,949 crore, and that the proceeds go to Antfin. We count nothing for the block. |
| Discount for size | Minus $80 million | Our assumption: about 8 percent off, because a holder of nine percent of a listed company cannot sell at the screen price. |
| Total | $930 million | $1.01 billion less $80 million. |
This is a rough estimate in one respect: the shareholding is public, but the terms of the debentures are not, so the split of that 10.3 percent block is unknown to us. We add nothing for angel investments, which the public record lists without amounts.
The block he controls and does not collect on
Here is our calculation. Dividing 57,845,053 shares by 9.04 percent gives about 640 million Paytm shares in issue. The 2023 filing moved 65.3 million shares, 10.3 percent, to his company, valued at about $628 million at the time. After the August 2026 sale of about 19.2 million shares, about 46 million are left, which Inc42 puts at 7.2 percent. At 1,652.70 rupees those are worth about 7,600 crore rupees, or $0.80 billion. The original block would be worth $1.14 billion at today’s price, 1.8 times its 2023 value.
The August sale suggests the economics are still flowing to Antfin, but we have not seen the debenture terms, so we cannot rule out some benefit to him. That is why our range is so wide and why we stay near the bottom of it.
A profit, finally
In late October 2026 Paytm reported, as Angel One summarised, a profit of 225 crore rupees for the quarter to September, up from 21 crore a year earlier, on total income of 2,830 crore rupees, up 24 percent. For the six months it reported 445 crore rupees of profit. The shares, at 1,652.70 rupees, are what carry his wealth, so profit matters more to him than any pay we cannot see.
What would move the figure
Every 100 rupees on the share price moves his direct stake by about 578 crore rupees, roughly $61 million by our math (57.8 million shares times 100 rupees, at 95 rupees to the dollar). A conversion of the debentures, further sales from his company’s block or a change in the rupee would also shift it.
