8. In a Narrow Grave: $17,500
Larry McMurty, a Texas author known for his 1975 novel called “Terms of Endearment”, released a manuscript of “In a Narrow Grave: Essays on Texas” with so much editing and many typos errors that got ignored.
But somehow the version made it to print and became known as the “Skyscraper” version.
The “Skyscraper” was the first true edition of this non-fiction work.
The book is famous among collectors, who are willing to pay as much as $17,500 for a copy of the manuscript, because it seems only 15 copies survived.
The Texan author is a famous author with many novels, essays and screenplays written. But it seems that everybody makes mistakes.
