7. Huckleberry Finn Misprint: $18,600
I have read the book myself and seen the movie, and I have to say that the story of Huckleberry Finn has been one of my favorites!
We are not here to talk about how good the book was, but to talk about the expensive mistake which was made. It is about the first edition of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and a slight misprint.
The simple mistake from “was” to “saw” made this book more valuable. They eventually corrected the misspelled world during printing.
The earlier books with the mistake can be worth $18,600 as collectable, because they are evidence of being a true first edition.
However, the first edition of Huckleberry Finn has been already quite rare without the misprint.
