Ritesh Agarwal’s net worth is estimated at $1.7 billion as of November 2026. In 2019 he reportedly bought about $2 billion of OYO shares, tripling his stake. That bet is why he owns almost a third of a hotel company that has still not listed, and why the number attached to his name swings so widely.

How much is Ritesh Agarwal worth in 2026?

We put Agarwal at about $1.7 billion. His stake is documented; its price is not, because OYO’s parent PRISM has not yet listed. This one is a rough estimate. Public figures for him range from a few hundred million dollars to well over $2 billion, and the spread is mostly one question: what a pre-IPO share is worth. Our range runs from $0.9 billion at a $3 billion company value to $2.3 billion at $7.5 billion.

How Ritesh Agarwal built it

  • Bought more shares in 2019. He reportedly spent about $2 billion in July 2019 to triple his OYO stake.
  • Pushed to profit before listing. OYO posted net profit of ₹229.58 crore in fiscal 2024 and ₹244.82 crore in fiscal 2025.
  • Kept his stake out of the sale. The draft IPO is all new shares, with neither Agarwal nor SoftBank selling.

How we got to $1.7 billion

Source Our estimate What it rests on
Stake in PRISM $1.68 billion 30.52 percent in the updated draft prospectus (26.71 percent held directly and through RA Hospitality, plus 3.81 percent via Patient Capital, which we read from the filing as his) times an assumed $5.5 billion valuation
Cash and other assets $0.02 billion Assumption: salary and small investments
Total About $1.7 billion $1.68 billion + $0.02 billion, rounded.

Total: $1.68 billion + $0.02 billion = $1.7 billion. Our calculation for the stake: 30.52 percent × $5.5 billion = $1.68 billion.

Why $5.5 billion, when the IPO talks about $7 billion to $8 billion

Reports put the listing valuation being discussed at $7 billion to $8 billion, and the 2019 round put it at $10 billion. $5.5 billion is our assumption: a discount of about 27 percent to the $7.5 billion midpoint, because no price band has been set and the talk is well below the 2019 mark. At $7.5 billion Agarwal’s stake would be about $2.3 billion; at $3 billion it would be about $0.9 billion.

The 2019 purchase

His Wikipedia entry says that in July 2019 he reportedly bought about $2 billion of shares from early investors, tripling his stake, at a $10 billion valuation. Our calculation: $2 billion ÷ $10 billion = 20 percent of the company bought, and a stake that tripled means he held about 10 percent before, so 10 + 20 = 30 percent. That matches the 30.52 percent in the draft prospectus. The catch is price: that 20 percent cost $2 billion, and at our $5.5 billion valuation it is worth about $1.1 billion.

Profit, debt and the IPO

The Week reported net profit of ?229.58 crore in fiscal 2024, ?244.82 crore in fiscal 2025 and ?748.34 crore in the nine months to December 2025. The IPO path moved on: PRISM shareholders approved a ?6,650 crore fresh issue in late December 2025, SEBI cleared the offer in June 2026, and the updated draft prospectus was filed on 30 June 2026. About ?4,987 crore of the proceeds is earmarked to repay borrowings. Choice India summarised the filing: neither Agarwal nor SoftBank is selling, so the offer is all new shares.

What would move it

The listing price, for one. A fresh issue dilutes every holder, but a market price replaces our assumed valuation, and every $1 billion of company value moves his stake by about $305 million.
